The Star Thief reaches for the stars
Reach for the stars...
I've have been working on some preliminary drawings for a story I wrote about a star thief. Today I'm showing you one of those drawings, in this piece the Star Thief is stood on a rooftop trying to reach for a star.
The image was created using my dip pens, drawing inks, wax and watercolours. Some of the stars were created separately and placed on to the piece- this is so the same stars can shown in other scenes.
'One night he became so annoyed that he jumped on to the roof tops and attempted to reach the stars. At first he stood on his tiptoes and reached out with stretched fingertips, his finger lightly grazed the edge of a glowing star.'

Watercolors and inks, wow! It looks like a great mix, I like how you use this mixed media to paint this illustration!
Thank you, I've been using so much black ink this year I decided to add a bit of blue to the mix too!
