The Star Thief longed to dream
Twinkle, twinkle...
Recently I've been working on some preliminary drawings for a story I wrote about a star thief. Today I'm sharing with you one of those drawings, in this piece the Star Thief is looking up to the stars shining brightly above.
The image was created using drawing inks, wax and watercolours. Some of the stars were created separately and placed on to the piece- this is so the same stars can shown in other scenes.
'The Star Thief longed to dream like the others, and over time this desire turned to jealousy. He saw more and more dreams coming true, and each night as he walked the streets the stars above seemed to shine even brighter.'
I hope to share a few more of the preliminary drawings for the story about the Star Thief with you soon.
If you want to see some of my previous ink illustrations check out DWELLING, an illustrated crime novel collaboration between myself and fellow Steemian @dougkarr, set in New York’s Lower East Side. Dwelling is now available in print and ePub.
Beautiful work! The story sounds great too.
Thank you, I wrote it a while back and had good feedback. I want to revisit and rework it though.
Great drawing and of course it would be good to see more drawings of the thief of the stars
There are a few more in the works.
Incredible!
