Tangled Memories

Tangled memories

Twine and twist

Their way through branches

Dead wood

Against new growth

A perfect nesting site.

Acrylic paint, ink and water-based paint on paper.

Do our past memories, even if painful, support our ability to grow? Would you cut them out like dead wood or leave them to build upon?

I could not define it if I had to choose if it is better as art in painting or as a writer, excellent combination very beautiful congratulations lady @opheliafu

The picture was a response to the poem this time. Other times they are written and drawn together, sometimes the poem after the painting.

Beautiful work, both work and poetry, thank you very much lady @opheliafu

Good, simple and straight to the point, nice poetry

nice art and nice poetry @opheliafu

Thank you, kind of you to say.

beautiful poem!

Thank you, I'm glad you like it :D

This is a great reminder to prune our fruit trees and bushes now, lol. Your piece looks like my highbush blueberry plants right now. I need to get them pruned!

It was based on my elderberry trees, I don't prune them too hard though as they are a great place for the birds to hang out!

I bet your birds do like your elderberry bushes! I have an elderberry bush, too. I do prune it, but I'm letting more sprout from the ground at a distance, so I will eventually have a big stand of them. Do you use the flowers or berries?

I would like to use the berries and flowers but this year I didn't get a look in. The wood pigeons and blackbirds cleared out all the reachable branches.

It sounds like your birds really like that elderberry stand! Thanks for your contribution to space for nature!

This may not seem like a gardening post, but it relates pretty well to anyone in the northern Hemisphere, with fruit trees or bushes in their gardens. It's time to prune! Take out the dead wood first and then shape the tree or shrub.

I'm happy that it reminds you to prune out the dead wood, lol. I was looking at my elderberry at the time I wrote it. I was wondering when to cut back my gooseberry bushes- they are a little lethal on the ankles at the moment.

Winter is a good time! Before they start leafing out in the spring. Enjoy those gooseberries! :D

I went out yesterday and cut them down a bit.

I bet they like their new haircut! : )

Very gentle and impressive) Follow you. Wish you an inspiration)

Thank you animal-shelter, and welcome to Steemit, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your posts.
