Scorched -Inktober
My 19th drawing for Inktober
The Inktober prompt suggestion for the 19th is Scorched. I took a flame to this piece, so not only does it look scorched, it smells scorched too.

I have decided to get out my ink pens and join in with Inktober, you can find more details about Inktober on the website: https://inktober.com/.
Creating the drawing
The initial stages of preparing the paper involved scoring into the paper with a scalpel, then over these marks applying water and ink. The black outline of the sun was applied by coating the rim of a glass with ink and pressing this into the paper.
Bring on the fire!
I used a cigarette lighter to scorch the surface of the paper, focusing the flame on the sun and across the tops of the buildings.
I complete the piece by adding more ink and water to the buildings, and using a pencil to outline the edges of the buildings.
'Scorched'
If you want to see some of my previous ink illustrations check out DWELLING, an illustrated crime novel collaboration between myself and fellow Steemian @dougkarr, set in New York’s Lower East Side. Dwelling is now available in print and ePub.
It's a pretty interesting drawing the effect of as if it were burned is quite creative! I loved what you did thank you for sharing
The inks gave it a nice burned effect - but i also used a lighter to singe the paper.
I was amazed to see how from a simple explanation to do so, the result is a true work of art. It seems easy, but not everyone has the talent to do it. I congratulate you, @opheliafu. I liked it a lot, although I suffocated with so much fire. A greeting for you.
Thank you @aurodivys, I'm not sure if I'll repeat this process soon as I did burn my thumb slightly making this!
¡ja,ja,ja! I imagine, but the sacrifice was worth it for the great result. You just have to be more careful next time. A hug.
@opheliafu hello dear friend, you have achieved a very beautiful and creative work
I wish you a prosperous weekend
Have a wonderful weekend too!
Oh, I identify with that painting, @opheliafu! It's a real exaggeration: I know! But the city where I live burns and we melt. Blessed sunshine of October
I thought about the London skyscraper dubbed the "Walkie-Talkie", that when first built melted parts of parked cars when the sun reflected off it onto the street.
