Mapping shadows- ferns
Shadow mapping lines and plants with marker pen and paint.
This is a fun method for kick starting the creative process. It loosens up my style of drawing and helps with the development of new designs.
The long thin shadow lines are created by the bamboo canes in a pot, and a thinner line from a piece of string that was blowing in the breeze. I mapped these shadows using marker pen on the paper.
I drew the shape of the fern leaves over the top of the marker pen lines with water-based paint.

Really great technique, using the shadow. How do you make your gifs? Do you use an app?
I edit the video, then upload it to YouTube, then I copy the link to imgur. Then I trim it on imgur and paste that link into my post. I'm sure there must be an easier way! If anyone knows please share!
