Goodbye Amsterdam, hello UK!
Allow me to share the sketch from my last morning in Amsterdam, drawn whilst having breakfast in the hotel. I had lots of coffee to wake me up before hopping onto the train to the airport. SteemFest was such fun and it was so sad to say goodbye to so many new friends.
I decided to draw the view from the restaurant window.
For this piece I focused on shape and kept my drawing to 3 colours. I drew this cityscape on top of a map that had been given a base coat of acrylic paint. I used paint pen and ink marker pens.
Back in the UK
Once home in the UK I developed a new image based on my sketch. I used a map with acrylic paint again, but this time I created the shapes using tissue paper. Final details were added with paint pen and fineliner.
