Foxglove in ink
Digitalis
This foxglove has self-seeded itself in one of my plant pots, producing a beautiful spire of bell shaped flowers. I sat outside and drew this today using drawing ink and a dip pen. I finished my drawing just in time as the first few drops of rain fell on to my paper from the grey rain clouds looming in the sky above me.
Very nice! I like how you show your subjects next to your art... that's a really lovely way to share.
We have several "volunteer" foxgloves (or "digitalis") in the garden, I suppose brought in by birds. They are really very dramatic and beautiful... been out at them with my camera, quite a few times.
I'd love to grow them in my borders, but they have their own ideas on where they want to grow!
Fantastic work @opheliafu

Very nicely rendered. You have very good command of line!
Thank you! Using the dip pen and drawing ink creates a different quality to the line than a normal pen.
Pretty flower, and the drawing is successful! congratulations
