CSS Contest April Theme "Beauty of nature": Ogbunike Cave
Good day steemians. I am @onlyonefave and I'll be participating in this contest "Beauty of nature"
Nature to me, is anything that is not controlled by humans, it was in existence even before we came to be.
When we think of nature, we immediately picture the height of a mountain, breadth of a sea or blooming flowers. Nature reveals it's beauty to different eyes at all times. What looks relaxing to one, can look amazing to the other. Soil for instance helps in plant growth, plants that consume faces convert it to oxygen for our use. The beauties of rocks and rivers overflowing with water to provide seafood, drinking and relaxation spots.
Last year, my friends and I went on a tour to visit the Ogbunike Cave. It is located in Oyi local government area in Anambra State. The entrance to the cave area is a very long one. A staircase of more than 300 steps. This leads to an open area which serves as a reception where we removed our shoes. A tour guide helped us in.
• The cave has 10 tunnels which leads to different chambers. You can't go out through the same entrance you came in from, it's against the rules. You have to crawl your way to another passage. Some of the tunnels are not walkable, so you have to crawl on the ground.
• In the 1960s, the Ogbunike Cave served as a refuge for people to hide from the the war so as to escape death. Locals and soldiers hid there for days to weeks.
• The Ogbunike Cave is also serves as a spiritual place for it's indigenes.Water drops from the top of the cave at many points, spiritualists believe it has the power to heal, they come to collect it for different purposes.

• There is a large colony of bats in the cave, though they are harmless.
• There are three tunnels which leads to the Crocodile, Tortoise and the Talking Stone. The stone is believed to have the power of communicating with humans. They call the talking stone "Nwanyi AkpanYi.

• Another surprising thing about the Ogbunike Cave is that women cannot enter the cave while on their monthly cycles because it is a holy place.
• Movie directors go there when they need something natural and mysterious.
• The famous Nigerian movie "Idemili" was shot there.
The Ogbunike Cave has a high tourist potential, both in it's histories, and mysteries which lies in the dark cave. It is a good place for educational research, i.e to learn cultures and traditions.
However, descending and ascending the stairs were very tiring. There's also a beautiful place where cold and hot water meet at the foot of the cave. It is a really beautiful place, it's nature and serene environment adds to it's beauty. One cannot but thank nature for giving us such beautiful gift.
I invite my friends @johnmitchel @davidmarkgeorge @imohmitch to participate. Thanks for reading through 😊
