"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich" (2Cor 8:9)

Just begin to say bye bye to poverty in Jesus name!
Because you are already BLESSED. As Children of God we are not poor and we do not lack.

We are not suppose to be poor and we can never be poor again in our entire life, if we have a better understanding of Christ substitutionary sacrifice on our behalf and for us.

If any one in Christ is poor, it is because:

  1. He chose to be poor.
And there is nothing anybody can do about your choice. Even God cannot do anything about it.

When you look at the case of Lazarus the begger, it was his choice that kept him poor, even though he was a born again child of God and he actually made it to heaven. But his choices, while he was in the world, here on earth, determines the manifestation of God's glory in his life.

But I know poverty does not glorify God or showforth the glory of God, because we serve a God that's abundantly rich.
If you want to know a little about the magnitude of the riches of God read Psalms 24:1
And we read:

"The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."
If we serve a God that is this rich, and He wants us to showcase His glory. Then, these abundance is what we are expected to showcase.
Read 1 Peter 2:9.

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light."
A Royal preisthood does not wallow in poverty. That's not in conformity with the glory of God.
God said in Isaiah 43:7. And we read:

"Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him."
Poverty is not part of God's package in His glory.
So if Lazarus died a poor Man, his choices in life was what made him poor, not God.
Hear the case of Lazarus during his life time, as we read in Luke 16:20-21.

" And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores."
Take note of the desires of Lazarus:
"And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table."

You can see that Lazarus has no mentality of a Royal priesthood or that of a Holy Nation either of that of a peculiar people of God, but the mentality conditioned by his physical circumstances.
He is not really seeing himself the way God sees him, but rather, he was defining himself by his physical challenges and circumstance. And that affected his choice in life. And as far as God is concerned, it is OK by God, if that will help him make heaven. Which it did.

Back to the subtopic:
If any one in Christ is poor, it is because:

  1. He chose to be poor.
  2. He does not know about Christ substitutionary sacrifice
  3. He has a poverty mentality (Mindset) His mind has been programmed with the notion that, to make heaven you have to be poor.
Like in the case of Lazarus.
He has been taught that the rich always end up in hell, because of their riches, while the poor go to heaven. And you hear them citing the case of Lazarus and the rich man to support their actions,.
When you look at Lazarus story very well. God did not create him or make him a poor man, but his desires made him a poor man.
"And desiring to be fed with crumbs, which fell from the rich man's table,," (Luke 16:21)

That is why you have to becareful of what you desire.
God will always grant you according to your heart desires. Psalm 20:4
Holy Spirit needs to reprogram many believers mindset.
Now let us look at this Bible passage:

"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich" (2Cor 8:9)

This scripture is saying; "YOU KNOW."
That means it is not a hidden thing. It is open and clear for every one to see, that on the platform of the overflowing abundant GRACE of God brought to us by Christ, there has been a substitution.

And what is this substitution?
Christ the only begotten Son of God, the brightness of God's glory, the wisdom of God, through whom everything was created. Who is also rich in glory and honour. Very wealthy and rich.
On the platform of grace for OUR SAKE became poor, by taking upon Himself, all the poverty of the entire humanity that will believe in him.

What that means is; God has anticipated the poverty of all humanity that will ever believe in Jesus Christ, and has placed their poverty on Jesus Christ for their sake, so that they (the believers) will have no reason to ever be poor again in their entire life.
He did not just put our poverty on Jesus Christ. He took all the entire riches, wealth, blessings, glory, honour that rightly belongs to Christ and bestow them on us (the believers), on the platform of His Grace.

This is the inheritance of the saints and we are a partaker of it on the platform of His grace. Colossians 1:12 buttress the truth that we the believers, are a partaker of these inheritance of the saints.
As we read:

"Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light." Colossians 1:12

HALLELUJAH!
Is that not great!
Is that not wonderful!
The poor can confidently say i am RICH!
I want to hear you say that boldly and confidently.
I AM RICH!
Hallelujah!

Glory to God our loving Father!
