A disturbing dream
Over the years my dreams have been hitting a new level of weird and they were always pretty strange to start off with. I feel they may be trying to tell me something? It could also be an overactive imagination combined with darker movie/series/book choices! Anyway, I have decided to jot some of them down, especially after I had a dream of my husband's truck breaking down and two hours later I received a call from him on the road...he had a breakdown.
My dreams seem to fall into categories and I return repeatedly to certain settings or themes. Strangely, I almost never dream of my daily life, the people in it, or experiences I actually have. The breakdown dream was an anomaly. I can often have the most horrific dreams, yet I rarely experience much emotion, let alone fear in them. This blog is titled, a disturbing dream, and it was, yet I didn't feel any fear. I won't reveal the category of this dream just yet, I will just tell the story of a segment of the dream. My dreams are long, and I have detailed experiences and conversations with people I have never met, but I will only regale the weirdest bit!
During the bulk of my dream I was traveling with a group of people and we were shopping and visited an art gallery. After we had spent the whole day together (the bulk of the dream) we met a charismatic, good looking young man, who seemed quite spiritual. I liked him a lot.
We next found ourselves in an old fashioned looking mansion at night. It was a lovely bright white, rectangular, and had five stories, with beautifully decorative balconies completely surrounding each floor. It stood out like a beacon against the night. Our group was seated at a large banquet table with an urbane and handsome host. Sadly the dream skipped the feasting part. Why can I never eat delicious food in my dreams?! We were surprised to see the spiritual young man appear while we were eating and the host told us he was his son, but did not like to come to the house since his mother had died. They had been very close, and it was too painful for the son to be at the house. The young man drifted out again.
Everyone in my group at the table was thoroughly exhausted, especially as we had spent a long day traipsing around town. The host however, told us it was a tradition to take part in a mud rolling game, just before the break of day. Basically we had to roll down a steep muddy hill, and see who got to the bottom first. We were not allowed to cheat by using our arms or legs to help us down the hill. We took part in good spirits.
When we reached the bottom of the hill, the house loomed bright white and large against the still dark sky. On the highest balcony I saw a stunning woman in an emerald ballgown. I instantly knew this woman was the host's wife and wasn't dead. I was alone now, and no longer part of the group I had been a part of. I went upstairs and the host and his wife were there, together with a daughter of about twelve years, also very beautiful. They were initiating her in some kind of a ceremony, and told her she would be very powerful, because both the mother and father had the power, and usually only one of the parents had the power. I quickly understood this lineage was very old, and very evil, and left the house.
The sense of evil evaporated as I exited the house and I decided to take a few photos of the mansion, I mean, that's what I do after all! (For all my online sales and for Steemit!!!). And then....with every flash of the camera I saw medieval looking scenes of utter horror. Uncountable people were hanging by the neck on the trees surrounding the house. There were scenes are of torture and fire, I even saw a baby burning, yet through the flames was unscathed. I understood now the mud rolling game had been some kind of demonic ritual that we had unwittingly taken part in, and we had rolled through the places where hundreds of years of terror had occurred. At last I woke up!
I have had a fair amount of dreams that I slot into the demon category, which is strange, as though I generally have a darker taste in fiction, I don't enjoy demon related stories, especially movies. But anyway, there it is!

You don't have dreams, you have sagas. I am going through a quiet dream period. I can't remember anything of late.
Sagas! Yes exactly. And it was only about a quarter of the drwam I shared.
A very scary dream! And you remember all the details!! Are you sure you didn't bring video recorder into your dreams?!
These days, I cannot remember my dreams, it's as if they have been blocked from my conscious mind.
I have heard many people say this. I have always had long and detailed dreams, and if I think about them as soon as I wake up, then I can remember them. Many times I will wake up in the night because I am tired of the dream I am having, usually if it is too boring, and I say to myself, I am tired of this dream now. I get up to drink water, and then I have a different dream.
This is a bit like video on demand!! It's dreams on demand!
Could you design your own dreams?! Say, have a dream of traveling to Venus or to other galaxy to meet some other living beings!
Cheers.
Sadly no! I can only recognise that I have to wake myself up sometimes.
Intense. Are you typically lucid in these dreams @onetree?
By that do you mean I am aware that I am dreaming, then no. I can very occasionally choose whether or not to go back to a dream if I wake up during it though.
Dreams are one of the greatest mysteries. I also often see strange dreams, sometimes even frightening. Before I get sick, I see the same dream, this is a sure sign.
Definitely a mystery. I also have the same kind of dream before I get sick, and it is never wrong.
Very detailed, and interesting dream. I rarely remember mine, although I know if I've had them. I just can't seem to retain much detail. My wife on the other hand dreams a lot and often recalls the details. I'm usually called on to help interpret them - but it's usually wild guess work.
I remember a lot, maybe it is a female thing? I can't even guess what they mean and I don't know if I want to!
