One hand washes the other...
How many times you have heard this proverb ( in the title, above)?
And it is truth, right? How could one hand wash itself, without the other?
Together, these two limbs can create marvelous things for us, alone - much much less than half of that.
Similar situation you find once joined steemit. You got no friends, no fans, no-one to comment, evaluate or upvote your posts. Even if you go desperate, go to buy more steem on the exchange, and increase your voting steem power. Without friends, engagement - growing your account can be a true pain, even for minnows, even for dolphins, not just redfish.

Selfupvoting of root posts is common these days, and there is nothing wrong with it. Selfupvote your own good post which you been creating half a day, or enhancing your photo in a Photoshop for hours is fine, ethical, and useful.
But ... you can't upvote one post more than once, right? And you got up to 20 upvotes regenerating automatically every day. Can you create 20 posts daily? Hardly so.
Having your voting power idling at 100% is one of a very common mistakes.
A terrible mistake. You must have your voting power to work for you NON-STOP. Day and night, every single day of the year. Otherwise your are missing great opportunity to grow.
And here comes the power of collaboration. You help others, others help you.
STEEM VOTE EXCHANGE CLUB
I have found a nice, but seemingly little know service at "steem-bounty" site. Once you login there ( by steem-connect) , this service finds a mutually beneficial upvote capabilities between the members. More so - it makes all the upvotes for you. Automatically.
All you have to do, is create at least 1-2 new posts on your steemit blog every day.
I will not go in all the details here , you can learn it all by yourself.
Just got to steem-bounty.com
Login with your posting private key via STEEMCONNECT
Then click on the small "lightning" sign on the top line, then click the STEEM VOTE EXCHANGE CLUB
Read carefully what it is, and how it works.
If all is acceptable for you - set your preferred minimum vote power with UPDATE button.
That is it. All DONE.
All you have to do now - keep posting on your steemit blog.
Simple and effective.

Rightly said about initial experience in steemit. I can relate your words to my initial experience. Now there are many programs which welcome new users and make them aware about the platform which gives user an opportunity to connect with people. I joined last year and that time there was nothing like this. I had to struggle a lot to make few friends to get comments, votes and feedback that how I am doing.
I have gone through the steem bounty website and this looks cool. I will give it a try later. This is the kind of platform where we can grow together. Thanks for sharing useful information.
