Happiness is an Inside Job
In very simple terms, happiness is basically the emotion of being happy or feeling joy. Being happy could mean experiencing the effect of favourable fortune; having the feeling arising from the consciousness of well-being or of enjoyment; enjoying good of any kind, as peace, tranquillity, comfort; contented; joyous. This feeling ideally, should be one which the owner of the emotions should be in control of. However, we have become people who have become dependent on others for happiness. We’ve collectively agreed that it is normal to give someone else the reigns to control the horse of our emotional state.
To put your expectation in another hoping that such person will keep you in a constant state of happiness is insane.
Your happiness is your own hands, the earlier this is realized by the majority of humans, the faster the world becomes a better place.
Yes, relationships are great and add so many positives to our lives when they are with the right person, however the mistake of attaching your happiness to such relationships should not be made. Relationships are not a prerequisite to your happiness. The search for happiness is not to find it, you FEEL happiness through an inward process.
Start getting comfortable with yourself and look for happiness within you and not from those around you.
HAPPINESS IS AN INSIDE JOB AND IT IS IRRESPONSIBLE TO SAY SOMEBODY RUINED YOUR MOOD.
It is a common mistake for people to consider happiness something that can only be chased and if you don't achieve it, "it wasn't meant to be" or accuse some other entity for foiling your plans. I think equally dangerous to expecting someone to provide our happiness is allowing ourselves to be placed in that role.
I spoke about the dangers of society supporting blind altruism, without first taking the necessary self-interest in my introductory post. The vision for my blog is to demonstrate the personal progress that is possible by individuals committing to working toward each personal idea of happiness.
