HELP SUMMIT IN LAGOS NIGERIA

H.E.L.P which is an Acronym for Harmonizing-Entreprenual-Leadership-Potential is a Summit aimed at empowering people in Lagos Nigeria, Lagosians as fondly referred to is any Citizen of Nigeria Residing in the City of Lagos.

I was contacted by @jotmax about introducing Steemit to some youth at a Summit, so i spoke with the crew of @steem-lagos ; @peman @lucashunter and myself @oluwoleolaide which we are in the process of recruiting two ladies to join the fantastic crew. We are in talks with @jeaniepearl and most likely @sweetestglo-eu to come onboard as we roll out many project we are yet to update the community about.

The youth event turn out to be an all aged event, and had changed my initial plans of using the simplest definition of Steemit i gathered from this people i look up to: @gavvet @donkeypong @demotruk @pfunk @papa-pepper @aggroed and @stellabelle.

It was a busy day in the City of Lagos on Saturday as there were several daylight Road construction and maintenance works which gave us some mintues of delay ahead of time as schedule.

Even though the playing field changed upon getting to the venue in Abule Egba Lagos State Nigeria at about 12:15 noon West African Time, we discovered that the attendees of the Summit are both young and aged, so improvising and using simplest and audience friendly vocabulary was the mild challenge.

So what do you do when you meet a different audience from what you expected? This was our plight as to how to impact the Blockchain Knowledge into this group of people. Although the turn out was below expectations as there were about 27 people in attendance by my reckoning.

How do you start a talk when you were mistaken for a Steemit Inc staff?

From the clip above, i started by erasing the notion of been a Staff of Steemit Inc. but interestingly i wish to think of myself as an Employee of Steemit- That is if a non-techy individual could work at Steemit HQ.

We had to ditch the initial approach and start by briefly explaining the Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies- Steem/SBD and how rewards is been distributed.

It was a more interesting turn of event as the elderly ones took much keen desire in what Steemit is and asked some deep question perculiar to a less educated audience.
