Comforting grace (part 2)
“I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing”

Our opening scripture speaks the mind of God to us. He has assured to send down "showers". He did not say he will send down "drops". C.H. spurgeon said, and I quote: If God gives a blessing, he usually gives it in such a measure that there is not room enough to receive it. Oh how much of this do we acknowledge! You may sow your seeds, but what can you do without the rain? This grace is needful. One thing is needful; said jesus to martha. We often get caught up in labour that we do not acknowledge the fact that.
" Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep." (See psalms 127:1-2 kjv). Oh beloved, there is such a rest that is bestowed on us, when he gives his showers. This is seasonable! There is no moment of our lives that this grace is not needed. “I will cause the shower to come down in his season”. What season of your life are you? Is it the season of drought? Is it the season of pain? Is it the season of rejection? Is it the season of hardness? Is it the season of loneliness? Is it a season of great heaviness and black clouds? Then that is the season for showers. He has assured us of his showers of blessing. Blessing to every area of our lives. The scripture speaks of the way God attends to us in our deepest concern “O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy upon Jerusalem? And the Lord answered the angel with good words and comfortable words” (see Zechariah 1:12,13). You may fear that the Lord has passed you by, but it is not so: it will be an eternal injustice for him to count the stars, and call them by their names and forget "his own" created in his image. He knows your case as thoroughly as if you were the only creature he ever made, or the only saint he ever loved. Approach him and be at peace. He will never leave you nor forsake you.
PRAYER
Dear God, I thank you for the power of your word to me today. I thank you for giving me this blessed assurance to send on me showers of blessings. You have said you will keep me in perfect peace as long as my mind is stayed on you. Dear, God I connect to this grace, knowing you will never leave me nor forsake me. I know you will give me peace always by all means. Thank you dear God! Amen.

Meditatively reflect on this truth brought to you today. What season of your life are you? Sre you faced with challenges that seem insurmountable? Are you in a season of silent tears? Have you encountered this Comforting grace? Have you received it with meekness? Have you come to terms with the fact that you need this comforting grace; that which keeps you in peace amidst the storms of life? Seek this grace in every area of your life.
