Market Friday In Ljubljana
Well, it is Friday so that can only mean one thing, it's Market Friday hosted by the lovely @dswigle!
I copied this sentence from the @old-guy-photos post. I hope he'll be fine with that.
Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia in case you didn't know. In its old part by Ljubljanica river is a nice small market.
I wish I took more photos but it is what it is.
This is a klick bite photo but the castle standing on a small hill just near the market.
Nice place for a coffee or a quick drink.
Medicinal plants are growing all over Slovenia and people are using them a lot.
Balloons are the same all over the world.
You guess it.
Made in China.
Wood is a popular subject among artist and artisans.
Too expensive, but if you want an authentic souvenir you should pay for it.
Honey.
Beekeepers claim that it's the best in the world.
Funny. I heard that in every country I visited.
I guess bees don't care about the borders. They are way smarter than humans.
Vegetarian and vegan part of the market.
Something good for the meat lovers,
and for the real lovers.
It would be interesting to know how many couples who hanged these padlocks are still in a relationship.

Ljubljana was a great surprise for me! I didn't realize just how awesome this capital city was. In my opinion, it is very underrated as a tourist destination.
I am aware that the bridge that holds the locks is called Butchers Bridge, but, it is only because of the close proximity to the Market that it is named such. Still, does take a dash out of the romance. I didn't put a lock up there, but, I did in Paris and they took all the locks off that bridge as it was getting too heavy for the bridge.
Sign... There went a lot of lost loves. It isn't their fault, I say!!! Who knew they lock would be torn away, much like their love of today?
I went to several other bridges there, Dragon Bridge which had dragons on each side and well, now I forgot, but, I will get back to you on that. The farmer's markets, as you have shown, carry everything and some come from as far as China.
I laughed out loud at the bees seeing no borders. So true. So true. Humans are such odd creatures of habit, no?

Such a cool tradition with those locks @oldtimer and glass bridges are magical. Have you seen the one that is l.e.d. and makes 'cracks' as you walk across it? I think it is in China? The reactions of youtube are pretty funny, though I think probably staged.
