Rear bearing carrier

in #repair7 years ago

I rebuilt a rear carrier for a customer a little while ago. It was rather expensive but he really wanted it done right, it was badly damaged. Figured someone might want to see a bit of the dissassembly and damage with repairs.

Unfortunately had to reuse the axle as it was no longer available.

That first photo looks good enough to eat!

Lol!!!

Very nice. I love rebuilding stuff that everyone else deems unsaveable .

As soon as someone tells me its not worth fixing, thats officially the challenge for me to try.

Milled out and knurled these filler tools i needed at work. The one on the right was our prototype. 20180212_135826.jpg

Nice! My father has a metal lathe and thats the extent my access to that sort of thing.

In the garage where we work on the race cars they have a lathe and a bridgeport. It is smazing what you can make.
