Good news stories need as much publicity as possible. Cheers rang out when Annette Poitras was lowered from the helicopter that rescued her after three days lost in the bush.

The mountainous forests around Vancouver claim the lives of three or four people a year in spite of the volunteer rescue organizations. These men and women who give up their time and risk their lives helping others need all the kudos they can get.
It turns out that the dogs and her relationship with them were a key factor in her survival. Annette says that she noticed the dogs digging through the wet leaves and needles to drier soil and she was smart enough to copy them. Outdoor enthusiasts are well aware of how much heat can be lost to the ground.
Annette and all the dogs are all back now safe and sound.
Wow that is awesome, I am glad her and the pack made it out alive. We are lucky to have search and rescue people to come save us if we are in trouble!
