Images of the Car Show
It seems like every weekend during the summer there is something going on in the community where I live. Last week it was the quilt show, this week the car show. Next weekend is the rhythm and blues festival.
So without further delay here are some images of the car show. :)

One thing about my town, they are not afraid to shut sown streets for events. Quite refreshing.
I have found that taking pictures at car shows can be somewhat difficult depending on the crowd size. You have to be willing to go where the crowds aren't in order to not have your image accidentally (or on purpose) photo bombed. :)
This car belonged to one of the original organizers of this show that had recently passed. They were having a raffle to benefit his family behind the car. Several of the business had donated items for the raffle. It is a very giving community that I live in.
This one had some special meaning to me. My dad had a couple Jeep Willys during his life. I grew up watching the family slides of his exploits in the 1950s revolving around his jeep. When I was a teenager in the early '70s he bought another Willys and we had a lot of fun together working on it and driving around. Those bonding experiences are probably why I ended up with a Jeep Wrangler that I will probably own until I die. lol.
Some shots of one of the town parks and stage around which the car show was organized.
The town Christmas tree still sporting its lights.
My tired dogs after a couple of days of taking in the sights and sounds of my town. :)

Thank you!
It's a great exposition of oldtimers. We had one here a year ago or so and I also struggled to take photos without people. But there were so many people that it was almost impossible so I gave up.
PS: This is the first oldtimer Jeep that I have ever seen and I must say that it looks differently than what I would expect. It is more elegant :)
Thank you for sharing and have a good day!
I had that same problem at another car show on the 4th of July. I just had to give up.
I think this guy went for a paint job that looked like the old California surfers panel vans (there was a surfboard in the back). I'm not sure if Willys ever actually made them with wood sides. At least my dad's didnt have them. Here is a shot of his first Willys taken in the early '50s.
Thank you for stopping by!
I love cars shows, great photos!
Thank you @keithboone! I'm just glad I could get a few shots this time. :)
