(18+) New character generator released

An unstable version of the random character generator for MER is now posted on Patreon. It is currently available for download to patrons who donated 2.5$ or more. The remaining patrons will get a stable version as soon as it is released. After a while (I have not yet decided with lag time), a stable version will appear in the public domain.

An empty character generator is not something everyone expects, but in fact for us this is a big step in the transition to a new version of the RenPy engine with major code overhaul and a good proof that everything is going smoothly.

In comparison with those characters that are created in version 0.1.0, which has already been posted in open access, there are significant changes:

Added settings for the generator: you can turn off the creation of transgender characters, sexual orientation options etc .;
Various character cultures are supported. This means that the name, the world of origin and the picture can be related to each other and you will no longer see, for example, a character with a Chinese face and a Slav name;
Supports transgender characters (optional);
Supports non-human characters. At the moment, these are doghead furry, ghouls, fey and slimegirls;
New system of characteristics. Instead of three items that were previously - base attributes, skills and assessments, now only one - attributes. In the game, they will perform all the functions at once, and you will be able to navigate the character's abilities at a glance;
A new system of equipment. The outfit dynamically influences the attributes, there is "bare" equipment (when no objects are put on the slot), the number of slots is increased to six;
A new system of character background. We reduced the aspects of the background to two points - the world of origin and the former occupation, but made them more solid and clear. This will greatly simplify the work of those who will add new options;
Anatomy has been disabled so far, as there is as yet no new sex engine;

The functionality of the generator is minimal: you get a random character with an avatar, description and statistics. You can watch and change his equipment or generate the next character.

The module of the Edge of Mists (where the game itself takes place) is ABSENT because it is not compatible with the new character system and with the new engine version.

We have already begun work on the next part, very interesting and important one. It’s a faction system, which will allow the NPC to interact with each other, to conduct a dynamic struggle for influence and advantageous positions in the faction.
