Merry Market Friday
We have been getting a nice run of gorgeous sunrises. Best part is they dont happen very early. This was like 830 am or so lol.

So this year I have been on the hunt for a few more ornaments. I have very eclectic tastes that I happily refer to as Hillbilly Delux lol. I am a gypsy hillbilly so I guess that makes sense amiright :)
I stopped over at Hobby Lobby to see what they had. In addition to some cool Christmas stuff, I got a kick out of their collection of signage. They had a good deal of vintage replicas!
But as you know I am a cheapass, so this was my favorite sign of all...
I thought these were cool. They look and almost feel like glass but are shatterproof. Of course all this type of stuff is always way overpriced. You pretty much have to know that going in!
I thought it is cool that they had very small to over-sized ornaments.

I find these are all pretty handy to slip in all over to liven up the place.
I thought they had a pretty good selection of Christmas in addition to their regular craft stuff.

Who doesn't love to see what they will be selling in some foreign market, shopping in places I have never been to and some, never even heard of. I am always curious about foreign ingredients, different products that are being sold. So, yes! I would love to see you! We all do!! Don't forget to take photos wherever you happen to be shopping - whether it be the grocery, art galleries, or even a Christmas Market, wherever money is exchanged for a service or for merchandise. Well in the old days here in the US, frugality was a virtue. Now somehow that has been warped into being a negative thing almost. Or at least that is the story we are sold on TV. Knowing the value of a dollar is still a noble thing and crucial to building a happy household IMO, so kudos to you :)
I think part of the stigma now is in the wording, cheapass, cheapskate, however you choose to call it. Even back in the day, cheapskates had a little different meaning to some, because it was more about someone who was extreme and greedy, however, frugal on the other hand, has never been a bad thing then or now. Knowing the worth of a dollar and researching to make sure you are not over paying for what you want is just smart.
Now, what we think has value or not is different for us all, depending the things we love and think are worth spending on.
Taking advantage of sales is smart !
I have a lot of very nice Christmas things I have accumulated over the years. To me it was worth it, but to someone else, the money I spent for things you only use for a month once a year (probably 2 months for me...LOL !).... would be a waste, I am however frugal in other areas. :)

Isn't it fun when you decide to do something new, like real tree and new ornaments? So much fun to get out and see what all is out there.
As for Hobby Lobby, which is a place I love, it is true everything's original price is double what it is worth. They constantly have different areas of the store at 40 or 50 percent off, which means those are the times when the price is actually about what the item should sell for regularly. It's a game ! If I see something I like that is not on sale, I take a photo of it and wait till that section is "discounted".
