My money philosophy is exactly the same as yours. I’m four years younger than you.

I think it makes sense to be conservative with spending right off the bat.

Absolutely. Money is a measure of value, a medium of exchange and a store of value.

The fiat monetary system overemphasizes the role of money as a medium of exchange to a degree that is somewhat excessive in my personal opinion. I'm temperamentally a saver and I would appreciate it if money retained its value a little better. Financial wealth seems to keep ballooning at a rate much higher than wages in today's world, which means that if one wants to gain or even retain wealth keeping one's money in the bank is a bad idea. Inflation tends to blur the difference between sensible and purely speculative investments.

For sure. Here in the States with the low interest rates, money in the bank is and has been a loser of purchasing power. Although not a popular opinion on here, I still believe some equity (S&P 500) exposure is the prudent way to go over time.

I'm sure stocks will continue to go up because there seems to be no letup in QE. At least in the euro zone, ECB is forced to keep buying Greek, Italian etc. bonds to keep those economies afloat. I'm guessing that stock prices will increasingly be disconnected from cash flows and thus keep becoming akin to cryptocurrencies. :)

Amazon Affiliate links are pretty awesome eh …. I'm making about $50 a month now simply adding related Product links below my YouTube videos, on Twitter, Publish0X, and Steemit every now and then. Good idea to show the Disclaimer right in your Bio. I should do the same.

Yeah I just started not long ago doing the links on YouTube. I had seen people do it earlier and wish I had tried it sooner.

Yeah I like to be right up front. That has how I have always run my businesses. I think they are great. I have not changed my content to promote them, I just popped them on there and they seem to work. Some people think I promote too much, but if we dont promote ourselves, who will lol

Yeah …. maybe those other people have lots of disposable income and don't need any more money but there are some of us that rely on a little extra passive income to pay the bills. Not sure why people get all bent out of shape with a few affiliate links. If you are doing a ton of hard work creating content here on Steemit and only earning a few pennies in Steem (like me) why not earn a little more old fashioned fiat cash from Amazon and AdSense ? Maybe if we all had a little extra fiat cash we could buy more Steem and help the Steem Blockchain ? I think people who complain about affiliate Ads are short sited and Envious. Ads are what make the Business world go round. Lucky for all of us Steemit.com discovered this last year and now have enough money to stay in business.
