DANGER OF CARBON-MONOXIDE…………………………! Episode one.

The Prison Steel Company that manufacture STEEL, that employed thousands (1000) of applicants or engaged them to secure both day and night jobs, people are searching or looking for ways to be employed in the company. The company was sited far from the town but residential areas were now closed to the company, abandoned steel raw materials were processed to produces new ones, Businessmen and women was making their money by buying and selling in the area. Accumulation of carbon-monoxide in the body system result to the damage of some organs like lungs etc and but forgotten that there is still side effects of the smoke
I don’t want us to be carried away from the topic “pollution”.

The words pollution is defined as the release of toxic or harmful substances into the environment by their natural forces or man and other animals to an extent that causes biological damage to man and his resources. In other words, pollution is the release of harmful substances into the environment that is, water, air, and land in quantities or to the level that are harmful into man, animals and plants.
The harmful substances that cause pollution in the environment are called pollutants. There are four types of pollution. These are,

1. Air pollution
2. Water pollution
3. Noise pollution
4. Land pollution.
   But I want to discuss on air pollution,
   What is air pollution?
   AIR POLLUTION: can be described as the release of carbon-monoxide into the atmosphere which can also effects the wellbeing at a particular periods or It causes suffocation because it combines with haemoglobin and reduces its ability to carry oxygen which results in death.

SOURCE OF AIR POLLUTION

The source of air pollution is the bases of all problems, examples of air pollution are as following, Burning of fuel in cars, other combustion engines and some industrial processes, coal mining and cement factory, steel company or factory, Electrical discharge in air and industrial processes are the major of surce of air pollution nowadays which can damage lung and cause discomfort .Soot can cover the leaves of plant thereby reducing photosynthesis. it is also reduces visibility and It blackens paint on building.Mining, Quarries and Industrial processes such as electric plants that are radioactive substances.

EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION ON ANIMALS AND PLANTS:

It causes suffocation because it combines with haemoglobin and reduces it’s ability to carry oxygen which results in death.It causes impaired health such as the irritation of eyes, lung and skin, cough and others respiratory tract infection or diseases.
It can also cause acid rain and forms nitric with water in air to form acid rain which corrodes metallic objects.It irritates the skin and respiratory system.It irritates respiratory system and cause respiratory diseases such as catarrh and cough. It reduces visibility. Pollen grain containing dust can affect the lungs resulting in asthma. It impairs health as it’s also known to destroy or alter genes deformation.

CONTROL OF AIR POLLUTION

Conditions must be created for complete combustion of fuel in internal combustion engines.Chemical waste should be discharged into the air through fumes chambers.Industrial should be sited far away from residential area.There should be provision of filters or absorbers to be worn around mining and industrial areas so as to reduce pollution from waste genes.Legislation should be made against indiscriminate burning that may bring about smoke.
