Where Is The Place Of Patience?
Most people are always in a hurry. In fact, most Nigerians are always in a hurry that they do things even without much thought.
You see lot of people not being patient. They would rather want things faster even if it means losing their lives in the process. I don't understand the school of thought in this and whatever will benefit their lives, they won't show the same urgency.
This situation cuts across our lives too. You see us desiring things to change quickly for our country and we would take the short cuts, believe the lies and still feel disappointed in the end. You see a little bit of traffic and most cars want to look for ways to not be in queue and in the end, they start passing the route they are not supposed to, which now mess up the whole queue and even some damage their cars. They have become penny wise and pound foolish because they end up getting more delayed than if they have actually waited.
I have witnessed several times where people tried to go through another lane that wasn't meant for them and their car got stuck. They stayed there and no one was there to help them because the car wouldn't even move. Those who followed them started abusing them for not making it easier for them to navigate too; foolish lots.
I noticed we are always in a rush to get things done; to get to a destination, to make more money - which leads people into money rituals, to date, to own something, to get into power and all sorts. Where is the place of patience? No one believes in order anymore in this part of the world and it gets worse day by day. A little traffic that would have cleared up with patience, you see everyone in a rush just to be out of it and they end up causing more traffic. Please, don't they think at all?
Common sense should never be referred to as common anymore and it should be classified as super powers because if it was common, everyone or most people would have been able to have one amd they would be able to make use of it rather than block it or shelve it aside.
Now I ask again, where is the place of patience?

It is indeed interesting to see how convenience and the need to be somewhere else can make people do things that in the long run cost them way more. Patience may becoming a lost art...one which most of us could do well to practice. Thanks for bringing up the topic @olawalium. I'm right here with you.
It is indeed very sad. They don't think of the end in sight, they only live for now. Patience is indeed a virtue and most people have lost that art but it can be learned; if they are willing to do better.
