Totally Outclassed!
Arsenal have conceded against Liverpool 11 times in 3 meetings, so you would understand how this is a walk in the park for Liverpool and it has been since 2015 I think that they last tasted victory against Liverpool.
It was clear from the onset who needed this match the most or better still, who will emerge victorious in the match. I even predicted a 4-0 match because of the difference in class and game play.
Liverpool started the match brightly and were a constant menace to the Arsenal defence. Arsenal relied so heavily on their speed on the break; same thing Sir Alex Ferguson did to perfection while playing against big teams sometimes, during his days with Manchester United.
Pepe and Aubameyang utilized their speed and abilities a lot on the counter with swift play and dangerous attack but they couldn't make good use of their chances. They fluffed their lines many times and I can say that cost Arsenal either the victory or a draw. Pepe was more of the culprit but it is understandable being a new boy and his real test came against this Liverpool side.
Dani Ceballos couldn't influence the game as he did in the last match. Liverpool were on another class to Arsenal in this match.
Liverpool got ahead as Joel Matip rose higher to get the first goal with a lovely header. Liverpool decided not to stop there as Salah added a second from the penalty spot. The third one soon came as Salah made it the second goal on the night and he wanted to have his hat trick but couldn't. Liverpool would have scored a fourth is Salah wasn't focused on getting his hat trick.
Arsenal showed flashes of their brilliance as Aubameyang and Pepe proved to be a dangerous duo but they either took too long on the ball or miskick their shot or forget the ball behind. Arsenal would have shocked me with a win if they had taken their early chances.
Liverpool now has 9 points from 3 games and Arsenal just had their first loss of the season.
As I have said many times, it shapes up to be an interesting season ahead. I am excited.
