Down and Out? Left Hung Out To Dry?

When i feel so weak and down
When my strength feels so low
When i could see wrinkles given with frown
And adorable ladies with their best gown
Running around my place and in the town
When i could see help far away and i groan
I will choose to put my trust in You, only You

When i am put out like the fire with water
My trust and hope in You won’t waver
Because i know You are my only cover
Your Spirit circles and on me hover
Then i know it gets better and not over
And it is my choice still to trust only in You

When good things seem a bit distant
When dreams seem out of reach
Only Your love is constant
And your blessings on time and instant
Even when loved ones’ love is far away to teach
Still i will choose to lean on You

Sometimes i look to loved ones for comfort
Hoping they care enough to come forth
With words of love and smile from the north
Or greetings from far away or the sea port
They are near yet far away with their own dealings
More so will i lean and trust only in You

When i am spent and poured out like a wine
I know i am filled with Jesus the true vine
And with Him only with kings will i dine
And definitely i will turn out very fine
Pleasant places will fall for me in line
Because i deliberately choose to trust in You

Now i can rest my worries and know i won’t be alone
Because no one can have my back except Him alone
Not even if i am made into a clone
Only His light in me will i allow to be shone
Because i look expectantly to Him and no one.
