THE ETHEREUM SHANGHAI UPGRADE IS FEW DAYS AWAY
Of course, this is the reason why we do testnet so we can find these things before finally out before we risk billions of dollars in value. This is also due to multiple test net validators not upgrading their client's software in time. Ethereum core developer Tim Baiko is out and has said one challenge with testnet validators is that given the ETH is worthless. He expects the validators to carry out the proper preparation ahead of the actual mainnet launch where all the monetary value is sitting. We now have a target for the Shanghai upgrade of April 12th, which is just 26 days away.
When the Shanghai upgrade finally does get rolled out to the mainnet, it may take a little bit of time for the rest of the Ethereum ecosystem to start catching up to that. For example, Lido which is one of the biggest staking protocols for Ethereum. They announced their plan to launch the staked ETH withdrawal feature sometime in May due to the ongoing audits of its V2 platform. Lido has spent 1.2 million dollars on a total of seven different audits for its platform in other to try and fix any issues or vulnerabilities with the performance before that upgrade comes. It is exciting to be on the precipice of such a big event. Having spent so much money, they are not to let the Shanghai upgrade come in between their plans. It's going to come in May at some point if you are using the Lido staking service.
