When you hear the word hub, what comes to your mind? We usually think of the hub as the center of activities and the particular place to necessary activities are done. In literal meaning, it is a word used in mechanics. It is the center where the whole spokes meet and it helps a bike to function effectively. Cosmos work just like a hub.

Cosmos is an open-source blockchain that connects other blockchains in other to create a scalable, fast, interoperability, and low transaction fee Hub for any use of the blockchain. Interoperability is the main goal of Cosmos, this is because a lot of interest apps of a computer didn't become widespread until they could all interact with each other over the internet. Polkadot and Cosmos have some interesting similarities. Cosmo works with the help of the internet but there are some differences between the Internet blockchain and the internet. Most of the interactions on the internet are occurring between two centralized servers and the user's computers.

People that use Facebook and Twitter are all using one centralized point for their data. On the other hand, Cosmos will allow different blockchains to communicate with each other in a decentralized blockchain and that means no one will be able to have full control. Cosmos was able to do this through the help of Cosmos Hub and Zone Model. Hub is very important for a system to interact with a large number of users. Cosmos saw that there was a lot of blockchain without knowing the method of interaction between this blockchain. Even the so-called blockchain bridges are vulnerable tools for transferring assets from one blockchain to another.

The Hub and Zone Model are what Cosmos use to transfer money from one blockchain to another. Atomic swaps tend to solve the problem of moving assets from one blockchain to another but have some little flaws because they use some specific algorithm. Cosmos Hub interacts with any blockchain that uses zone and it is only an opportunity because the Hus uses something called IBC protocol. IBC protocol makes it very easy for transactions to be carried out for all the different zones linked with Cosmos Hub using two-way pegging.

Many people have a different perspective on how their project will be run and the governance of the project, this prevents many projects from connecting with other projects but Cosmos is here to solve that problem by allowing other blockchains to set up a zone to connect with the Hub and maintain their sovereignty and governance structure.
