Pray for your enemy

When some Christians pray, you'll hear them saying, things like, “Whatever evil my foes has have planned against me, Lord, give them the double! Anybody that wants me to die, let that person rather die all a sudden!” But as a Christian, this is not the right way to pray; it is not when you are full of the Spirit! Those that pray like that do pray according to the want of the flesh, it is not according to the Spirit. Galatians 5:16 says“...Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the want of the flesh.” It is the want of the flesh to see the death of your foes, but the want of the Spirit is to see their salvation.

When you pray against your foes, it means you are walking in the flesh; so you pray in the flesh. What God need is for us to pray in the Spirit: “ to always pray all prayer and supplication in the Spirit …” (Ephesians 6:18). Be in the Spirit; don’t be fluttered by whatever your foe may be planning against you. Lord Jesus Christ said, “Pray for, your enemies”He didn't say pray against, your enemies. You might be hurt, and annoyed or angry, but still, don't hate. You are too full of love to hate or curse anyone.

Your spirit is too sweet to be bitter or have record of the bads that has been done to you. Don’t give heed to your villain, because they don’t count. It doesn't matter how many people has ganged up against you, they are not a factor because you have been raised together with Lord Jesus Christ! Greater is the one lives in you than the one that is in the world. David has no reason to pray against his foes; they already took their place: they stumbled and fell. That is the same fate of people that make professes to be your foes. If they don’t rue, they are doomed. But your part is to pray for them, hope that God would give them repentance to the acknowledging of the fact.
