Once again I want to thank the steemit community for creating such a wonderful social media platform where you can earn a living from the comfort of your home and also learn new things too.

In this achievement 3 I want to talk about plagiarism, for a better understanding I will talk about plagiarism in four different points .

Firstly I want define and explain plagiarism, secondly I will talk about the types of plagiarism, thirdly I will talk about the consequences of plagiarism and lastly I will talk on how to avoid plagiarism.

Plagiarism defined and explain: According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, to “plagiarize” means:

• to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own
• to use (another's production) without crediting the source.
• to commit literary theft
• to present as new and original an idea or products deprived from and existing source.

Plagiarism therefore can be defined as the act of taking one's word, idea, production and work as your own without giving reference or credit to the main owner.

Plagiarism is not limited to just copying someone's words, work or production it also extend to coping of other people music, images and video's.

Plagiarism can occur in videos and image's for example when you use the footage of other people video or copywriting others music as part of your sound track.

Copying images from other website to paste them in your own Post or website.

Types Of Plagiarism:
There are different types of plagiarism.

• Mosaic plagiarism: this type of plagiarism happens when someone copies or borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks or to find another word for the authors language.

Consequences of plagiarism.
There are plenty danger awaiting someone who engages in plagiarism base on the servere punishment it is advisable for us to flew plagiarism.

Some of the consequences of plagiarism are:

• Plagiarism can prevent a student from getting a university degree
• plagiarism can destroy a student reputation
• plagiarism can destroy professional reputation ( officer's, business, organization)
• plagiarism can bring out the bad part of people
• plagiarism can harm educational establishment.
• someone cut in the act of plagiarism would face legal consequences from the law.

How to avoid plagiarism:

Having read some of the dangers associated to plagiarism below are some ways to avoid the impending danger mentioned above:

• each task must be well understandable before carrying it to avoid plagiarism.
• quote the source correctly.
• paraphrase properly.
• citation is very very important when writing.
• don't forget to reference your work .
• take your time will writing .
• use plagiarism checker.
