Bitcoin's 15th Birthday
Today is a special day for Bitcoin lovers because it marks the 15th birthday of Bitcoin. Bitcoin has come a long way and the last five years have been an amazing milestone in this journey. Although some of the countries are still unsure about their stand in crypto and blockchain, hopefully, things will not remain the same in the coming years. This is why the rate of adoption is expected to grow for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in future.
Completing 15 years itself is a big achievement for Bitcoin because it was started in 2009 and now in 2024 we are still talking about it. It shows that it is indeed a revolution that has the power to bring a lot of value to the money segment and we can also see it happening gradually.
I don't think Bitcoin is the replacement for the Fiat currency however we can still consider Bitcoin as an asset that carries its value because of its decentralised nature and limited supply. When we talk about the Fiat currency the encouragement gets complete control of this and they can print it whenever they want. With Bitcoin that is not possible because there is no way that one can increase the count since it is already locked.
People have made a good amount of money through investing in Bitcoin and hopefully, this will continue to happen because when there is more demand with limited supply then the price appreciation is obvious. Still, the overall Bitcoin adoption is too low and I don't think even 10% of the world population is aware of this. I hope it happens when about 20 to 30 per cent of the global population adopts Bitcoin and then imagine what value this revolution is going to have.
It's hard to predict how the situation will be when this type of adoption can be seen in this market but we need to be optimistic for the future. The future is bright with cryptocurrency and of course, Bitcoin is the leader which I hope it will be for multiple decades.
