Social Studies Lesson 10: Forms and types of marriage by @ogwo

Introduction

Hello friends,it's good to be here with you guys today in this very community as I am about to take part in this very nice lesson.
It is all about marriage as we all know that marriage is a string Union between a man and a woman and should not be tanpared with.
There are really many types of marriage and also there are some reasons why people go into marriage either for love,for money,family pressure and others I bet that you will find it interesting reading through my post.

What are the forms of marriage

1.Traditional marriage:This is a form of marriage that is usually done according to what the Traditional and customary law of the land.in this type of marriage the man and the woman are to be joined together in the presents of the elders of the new couple who knows the custom of the land and later,the groom will have to pay the pride price to the bride's family and in their compund.

2.Religious marriage:This type of marriage is a marriage that is done according to the religious beliyof a group of people who believe in one God and they are classified into two the Christian marriage and the Islamic marriage.

I.Christian marriage:This is a type of marriage that is usually done by the christians and according to the rules of their holy Bible.

Tge weeding usually takes place in the church and where the bride and the from will have to swear an oath to live with each other for better for worse and after that they will exchange their ring which is a sign of live and then they will sign their certificate which will be given to them.

ii.Islamic marriage:This is really a type of marriage that is usually done by the islams and is done according to the laws of their quran,the marriage usually takes place in their mosque,the bride's place of any special venue.the person that conducts the marriage is called malam and according to the thoughts of their holy quaran.

The man is permitted to marry as many wife as he wants and is expected to live them all as one.

ordinance or courth marriage

This is one of the famous forms of marriage in my city as it is a marriage that is usually done in the registry and is usually conducted by the chief magistrate or other government officials or registrar.

During this form of marriage like the others,they couples exchange wedding rings and also take some vow to be with each other till the end and also they do sign a certificate.
The man is not to marry more than one wife.

My interview on the forms and kinds of marriage my parents did

According to my interview,I just really that my parents did a Christian marriage because they both are all christians.
This is a type of marriage that usually take place in the church and they exchange rings and given some certificate to sign and later taken with them to their home.

When it comes to the type of marriage they did,they said that they are into monogamous marriage,which is that the man is only allowed to marry one wife unless something like death or breakup then the man can marry another wife.

Five types of marriage I know

1.Mornogamy:This is a type of marriage where the man is only allowed to marry one wife at a time.

And which means that the man cannot marry more than one unless the divorce or death occurs.

2.polygamy:This is the type of marriage that exists much in the olden days and small now,it is a type of marriage where the man marries more than one wife.They are divided into two the polygyny and which means a man marrying more than one wife.

Polyandryit is a situation where the woman married more than one husband.

3.Ghost marriage:This can be seen as a type of marriage where the unmarried brother of a dead brother marries his wife and bears children for him.
The woman is informed that he is married to the dead brother and that might be done if the deceased brother doesn't get married before he died.

4.Endogamy:This can be seen as a type of marriage in which a group of people marry themselves and therefore rejecting others and having in mind that they are not worthy and that my be because of wealth, reputation and others.

5.Exogamy:This can be seen as a type of marriage that permits a man or a woman to marry outside their clan or linage and is prohibited to marry a member of thesame ethnic group.

Reasons why people get married

Some people often get married because of the love they feel for each other.

Some people might often get married because of companionship.

Some people do get into marriage because of legal status and sometimes money.

Some people do get into marriage to start a family of their own.

People get into marriage because of the pressure their family is putting into them.

Conclusion
