Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 client version, which provides full support for SegWit scaling technology, was officially released on Monday (February 26th).
The Core team announced earlier this month that they will support SegWit technology with the updates they have released.
Core team, Github said:
"This version is an important release that includes new features, various bug fixes and performance improvements as well as updated translations."
Bitcoin Core 0.16.0 was an important milestone in Bitcoin's history. SegWit, which will shorten transaction fees and processing times, has been the most requested change by Bitcoin users since its release in August 2017
Bitcoin Core officially begins to give full support to SegWit
