Edouard philippe lobbyist of the nuclear and discreet director of Areva France (2007/2010)

in #news7 years ago (edited)

Between 2007 and 2010, Édouard Philippe was Director of Public Affairs at Areva. Between the setbacks of the EPR, the abyss of Uramin and the scandal of the mines in Niger, it is the black period for the nuclear group, the one that will lead to bankruptcy. This is a crucial moment for an official in charge of maintaining relations with the political world. Yet, Édouard Philippe seems to have stood aloof from everything. He became so discreet that few people remember him.

2007-2010, it is the black era for Areva. This is where all the mistakes are made, where all the difficulties accumulate, which will lead to the bankruptcy of the nuclear group in 2012. When Édouard Philippe arrives at Areva in October 2007, the OPA on Uramin has just been completed. The scandal is not yet spread out in the public arena - it will take more than three years to go up - but the case is already a big deal in the group (see our file). Geologists and engineers multiply the notes of alert on this mining adventure paid at exorbitant prices, which continues by a leak forward through ruinous investments - more than a billion euros -
