Personality Vs Attitude
Personality is the entirety of whom a person is. While attitude is the way you think and feel about something. A person's attitude at a given time may not align with his personality.
Most times, a person's attitude towards another person is greatly influenced by the other person's attitude towards him or her as well. This goes further to explain why people who are not cruel can suddenly become cruel to a particular person. That is why it is very wrong to judge someone you've not studied to know his or her personality.
This topic is an important one because, when you realize the great difference between somebody's personality and his attitude, you can use it for your own advantage.
Since someone's attitude towards you is highly influenced by your own actions, inactions and reactions, then it is possible to make even the most wicked people behave nicely to you.
I once read a book about positive attitude and decided to practice what I learned. I learnt that if you want someone to be kind to you, assume he is already what you want him to be, then treat him according to who you want him to be and not who he is. When I treated a cheating EX as if he was an angel, his heart judged him and he changed for good.
If people's attitude towards you is usually offensive, then the problem may not be them but you.
No matter how cruel a person is, you can still influence him to be kind to you.
Every knowledge we acquire is supposed to be used for increasing the quality of our life.

Got really inspired by this. I guess the reason most people are having difficulty relating with others especially strangers is their attitude towards them. They see strangers as unkown people and they remain in that state to them. That's why I love an Indian adage that says strangers are gods- those fellows would surely have a healthy social life.
Talking about attitude and personality- we've been told so many times while growing up by different people to always keep a positive attitude. Since attitudes does not always corolate with one's personality, I believe the main object of concern should be our personality as a whole. Working on the personality is a better deal.

It's true that a person's attitude towards another, can be influenced by the other person's attitude sometimes. On the contrary, I wish to disagree with you on this ....
To me this kind of change makes no much difference, it's temporary. When someone cheats, it's a reflection of their vulnerability, something other people don't have control over for them. It takes a higher sense of understanding, self-discipline, strong resolve and commitment for one not to cheat.
A person may have an amazing and sound personality, yet might still become a victim of terrible attitude if he or she is still convenient and conversant with the environment of his/her vulnerabilities. Well done @ogoowinner, nice one
