Any one here ever suffer from a Rotator Cuff Injury ?

I seem to have a Rotator Cuff Injury.

I am unable to bend my right arm behind my back. (Due to pain in my shoulder )

It is also very difficult to put a shirt or coat on. Typically I put my left arm then my right arm into the sleeve, but I am unable to do this.

There are long wait times to see any doctors and I always prefer to heal myself with exercise and diet.

Has anyone experienced this injury ?

It seems to have started at the end of December. I don’t recall any specific event and thought it was just a sore arm and shoulder from using my iPad and iPhone too much.

I tried ice at first, now I am trying a heating pad.

Lots of online sites recommend ibuprofen for pain and light exercise to ensure blood flow for healing.

It sounds like it could be healed in 2-4 weeks (I am on week 3) ….. or, it could take many months.

Rotator cuff treatment

The minimum time for recovery from rotator cuff tendinitis or a small tear is generally two to four weeks, and stubborn cases can take several months. Early on, the aim is to reduce swelling and inflammation of the tendons and relieve compression in the subacromial space. Later, exercises can be started to strengthen the muscles and improve range of motion.

During the first few days of rotator cuff tendinitis, apply an ice pack to the shoulder for 15 to 20 minutes every four to six hours. If you still have a lot of pain, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), such as ibuprofen, may be helpful. Your clinician may also suggest a corticosteroid injection, but there's no clear evidence that this offers any advantage in the long term over physical therapy and NSAID use.
