We come with our sacrifice
Like our ancestors before us
The thinkers and dreamers
Whose raw materials were ideas
Who slept and dreamt creation.
Sacrifice of thoughts
Captured in words
Woven around themes
Seasoned with humour
Intrigues and plots
Given breath of life
To become living souls.
Sacrifice of life
Life energy poured out in libwtion
Before the gods
At this shrine of humanity
May this sacrifice be acceptable
Consumed and savoured
Without remnant
May pillars of memory be raised
Reminiscent of these great artifacts
By famed fathers of Art
In this place of sacrifice
Our Mbari today.
