There is a mushroom here in Australia that can get caps up to 1 metre across. I have never found one but I'm looking forward to seeing it one of these days.
Wow... definitely looks like it has seen better days! Also looks vaguely like a very OLD specimen of a type of mushroom we used to pick that was really good to eat, when they were young.
