Last Report as Steem Representative, 07.10.2024

in Steem POD Team2 years ago (edited)

Hello, dear readers!

I have to admit, this is a bit unexpected even for me 🙂, but this is my last Steem Representative report. I started Power Down. Steemworld now says I withdraw 30% of my Steem Power, but it will be less. I plan to cancel the Power Down soon, unless some unforeseen circumstances intervene.

Many make Power Down a real tragedy, even apologizing for it. This is a little funny, because everyone has the right to use their resources as they see fit. Doing Power Down at STEEM price of 18 cents is definitely not smart. I certainly did not plan this. I was asked if something terrible happened to me, so I report that I am fine. The only reason I'm withdrawing money is because I haven't been able to handle the household budget. I have not been paid for a very long time, I changed jobs, but the situation has not improved, so far. In short, I'm just patching a hole in the budget 😆.

Those who do a Power Down lose their right to support from the Steemit team. By the way, I consider it fair. That's why I'm sending 100% of the rewards from this post to @tinochka2, who is currently fighting cancer and going through chemotherapy. This requires large financial costs.

Well, that's all, I made the introduction, satisfied everyone who was interested. Now I can go to the report.

As I'm stepping down as a Steem Representative, this is a great time to take stock of what I've accomplished and what I haven't. In my opinion, the primary task of the Representative is communication with people, explaining how everything is arranged here. The Representative literally has to lead the newcomers and anyone who needs it by the hand. Critically evaluating my activity, I must note that my emphasis has always been shifted towards writing posts. I love to write and I always have ideas for new posts. But I will not hide, I was also motivated to write posts by a financial incentive.

Post regularly - ideally with a diverse range of posts

Thus, I will rate my writing activity at 70%.

Comment as much and as widely as possible - particularly making constructive comments to help people improve their posts and their activities on the platform

And my activity helping other authors at 20%.

Vote regularly - make sure you use all your voting power

Most of my votes go to posts by Ukrainian authors. Since there is a war in our country, I understand better than anyone that they need financial support. Therefore, there are many excellent posts by authors from other countries who deserved my support, but never received it.

However, I want to consider this point in more detail, because most of the time I was a Representative and a curator at the same time. Was I a good curator? I made a really hard effort to distribute votes among authors from different countries, I tried to support beginners, I looked for posts on completely different topics, I looked for posts outside the communities. At the same time, my main requirement was that the post meet certain of my personal quality criteria. But if you evaluate the distribution of my votes among the authors, it could be done better. Thus, I consider myself to have completed the task of supporting the community by 70%.

Delegate wisely (if at all)

I delegated SP only to the curation account of the Ukrainian community to support its development. And I also delegated SP to my wife's account, because she deserves only the best from me 😍. In short, I fulfilled the requirement for delegations by 100%.

Keep powering up

So far I have fulfilled this requirement. 100%. I hope I will continue to move in this direction, although the circumstances do not inspire optimism.

Make sure your posts are the very best they can be - in content and presentation. Ensure your posts look good, read well and do not have unnecessary spelling or other errors.

🤔 Let's say 60%.

Another activity that I have devoted quite a lot of time to is promoting Steem. I have an Steem accounts on X and Instagram, but I have not been successful with it. I had slightly better success with paid advertising campaigns in Google Ads, but my account was blocked there because I could not document my relationship with Steemit INC. 😆 How should I rate myself? I think 30%.

If I sum up all my activities using a simple arithmetic mean, I get 64%. This is my personal assessment of myself as a Steem Representative.

What's next? I think nothing has changed. I will continue to be the same @o1eh I was, only with less responsibilities 🙂 .

Sort:

I can absolutely accept that, although I find it sad. Not because you're doing a power down, but for what reason...

I admire you for the activities you have done despite your situation on the Steem. I would be delighted if you could continue to write here. I don't have to follow any rules with my votes :-)

Nothing changes, I will continue my activities as before. Actually, I wanted to say in the post that despite the Power Down, I will do everything the same as before 😃

However, I'm a little sad that I have to do Powrer Down. You see, I am currently working two skilled jobs at the same time. In my main job, I am an inspector overseeing the technical condition of equipment. In my additional work, I design chemical plants that will operate somewhere in the Arab Emirates. It is a little surprising that such two jobs could not bring me at least some income. This situation is temporary. At the main job, a bankruptcy case has been filed against the company, and after its completion, salary payments will resume. At the additional work, the estimate, according to which the project will be financed, including my salary, was suspended at the approval stage. It just so happened that it all happened at the same time. 🙂

I want to thank you for your comment. I was very pleased to read it 🙂

Oh, those are really very unfortunate coincidences. I actually had a good feeling about your jobs. But at the same time, it sounds like things could turn around just as quickly.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and am just as glad that not much will change :-)

Дуже дякую за твою невтомну працю! Немає ніякого "прощай", тому залишається тільки побажати тобі миру. Миру, що означає життя без страху. І також фінансової безпеки... МИРУ!

Thank you very much! If your sincere wishes came true, it would change all other circumstances, including economic ones 🙂. The only thing we really lack is peace.

I'm sorry I'm not in the habit of reading reps' reports, I read your text just now.
Too bad! When I stopped doing full power ups, and then stopped doing even 50/50s, because of my financial situation, I felt pretty bad about myself, considering I know what the requirements are on this blockchain, and even though I see a lot of people actually circumvent them. And after all, most of us need that money at one point or another.
Well, I won't dwell on that now, because I'm going into the realm of fair-unfair, which is the most painful for me.
I'm sorry things haven't improved much for you with the new job, I hope it's only temporary! God, I hope this war stops soon! And things will improve faster from there on.
You are really very humble with your assessment of personal contribution to the blockchain, I can't imagine how much time and effort you put into it. I hope it was worth it! From a personal point of view.
Thank you for all your support throughout, it really meant a lot to me! And let's hope for better times. Here, with the cost of steem, and out in real life.

I felt pretty bad about myself

I'm sorry not because I'm doing Power Down, but because I made a lot of effort to avoid it, changed jobs, found additional work. All this is a significant departure from the comfort zone. But none of this helped. However, looking ahead, I received another good offer today. Who knows, maybe there will be another job change post soon.

From a personal point of view.

I treated and still treat Steem as a hobby. I do not consider all the time spent here in vain, because I did what I like. 🙂

And let's hope for better times.

Yes, I hope that both my situation and yours will get better. 🙂

Прикро, що все так, як є, але це не допомагає. З іншого боку, знову ж таки, добре, що у вас є резерви у вигляді STEEM і що він зараз корисний.

Дякую вам за вашу роботу і бажаю всього найкращого! До нових зустрічей...

Thank you 🙂 From a purely human point of view, Steem is an amazing project that is able to lend a helping hand to those who find themselves in an unfavorable situation. It performs an important humanitarian role. But I would definitely like to avoid this situation. I intended to grow my account to become a small curator so that my support would help newbies grow. Well, who knows, maybe these plans will come true someday.

It's not easy to take out your stake especially when you have invested so much time, effort and energy in building it. Having said that, you have every right to do so and what good is this asset if you can't fix something as basic as your budget with it.

64%? You are being humble. We are all witness to your hardwork despite the unusual circumstances in your country. You make this place lively with your optimism. You are not allowed to disappear (like me). 😀

Having said that, you have every right to do so and what good is this asset if you can't fix something as basic as your budget with it.

Aptly said. Of course, everyone expects that at some point they will use the capital accumulated here. This is another significant advantage of Steem.

You didn't disappear, you took a break to reboot 😄

you took a break to reboot 😄

Yeah that. 😆

Well, thanks for all your work @o1eh, I think you have done very well!

I do understand about the need to sometimes power down... I don't like to, but have had to several times, also for personal budget reasons. I don't think people should be judged harshly for doing so!

I agree with you. Sometimes it really is necessary. I could instead take a loan from the bank, but given the current unstable situation in the country, it may turn out to be a pain in the ass 🙂

Weldone for all your services as curator and SR.

It's sad to hear about your financial situation, definitely, it's not easy as a family man and in a country that is facing war crisis. This is what I am so concern about and I hope and wish that your situation gets better.

You have contributed a good share in the platform and still contributing, this I have witnessed.

Solving such needs is important as a family man.

Better days ahead!

Thank you for your continued support. Your example of solving problems often inspires me 😃

Better days ahead!

These are not just words, I really believe it!

We understand your difficult situation. Hopefully all will become better for you and your family soon.

Thank you for your great contributions to the platform as a Steem Rep and generally.

And thank you for setting the beneficiary for your post to @tinochka2.

#helpingwithsteem

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support 🙂. I also want to thank you for your work in supporting and developing the platform. I really like Steem, I see a lot of untapped potential in it, until now you are the only ones keeping this project from sinking.

Even though things are not going the way we would like them to, I will continue my activities here as before. Who knows, maybe in the future the situation will really change. 🙂

Thank you.

We look forward to your continued contributions to help move the platform forward.

Rest assured, all my free time will continue to belong to Steem 😅

By the way, I consider it fair.

Fair in the sense that they can do whatever they want with their stake and the rule is enforced equally, sure. But I could argue that if a small business has a policy that disconnects it from one of its biggest advocates, then maybe that policy is counterproductive.

Anyway, I continue to hope for an end to the turmoil that has put you in this situation, and I continue to be grateful for all of your contributions here, despite the turmoil. I can't imagine how you have been able to do it.

I believe that under the current circumstances, the condition of not having Power Down in order to get support from the curators is almost the only factor that deters dozens, maybe hundreds of users from the temptation to sell everything. Yes, we would like to see more investors and a more natural demand for STEEM, but there are no prerequisites for this yet. Perhaps, thanks to our joint activities, these prerequisites will appear over time.

I continue to hope for an end to the turmoil that has put you in this situation

So far, the negotiating positions of both sides are so distant that there is no reason to hope for an end to the war in the near future. Although I still have the feeling that the war will end as suddenly as it began. In any case, the war did such damage to the economy that my generation is unlikely to be able to rebuild everything.

I can't imagine how you have been able to do it.

I'm lucky to live in the deep rear. Modern warfare has very long arms and missiles and attack drones fly into my region, but it is not at all the same as combat. My skills allowed me to find additional work where I design chemical plants. This should have allowed me to avoid having to do a Power Down, but a significant delay in the approval of the estimate for a project I'm involved in left me with no choice. In short, I consider myself lucky because I live far from the front and can lead a normal lifestyle. If everything works, the financial situation will also improve.

Two SRs stepped down in a row! And both, so hardworking and motivating...

I hope you find some relief. I had such a good feeling about your new job, and I don’t like to be wrong, so I’m still optimistic. Come back stronger!

It is too early to say anything, but I will probably change jobs again. But first I need to assess the terms of the new offer.
