Hello everyone!!

It feels good to be back! For this theme of the Artexplosion after a long time I've made a artwork and I call it:"HybridBunny"
The theme I'm talking about is Hybrids. Thank you for making my fantasy wake up @juliakponsford I love to give you a tour right now ☺

It was was a while ago that I made something digitally and during the first digital pencil lines, I felt it.... This is going to be great! The theme inspired me to make a human mixed with an animal. (This time no half fish 😇) in my procces of making this I became the director of a new movie, there was a whole scene of a sci fi movie playing in my head.

Let me tell you the story about Luna

THE HYBRIDBUNNY

It begins in the year 2222.... After the rain from space, earth got damaged very bad... Humans are still alive but the population how we knew it was extinguished... Ice tops were melted completely and the earth globe was heated to a point boiling point.
Humans couldn't stay outside very long and had to protect their lungs from dust and their skin from the burning sun. Yes the sun is still rising every morning on this deserted earth..
Outside it was quite, the only sound you could here was the wind and the fine dust picked up by it.

The left-overs had build a new community in a very big cave, there was a doctor, a group of teachers, a cook, farmers some policemen, builders and a scientist...
This scientist studied the pieces of falling comets and the bones of the humans who didn't made it after the rain..he discovered that humanity needed to combine itself with robotic parts and DNA of animals. This will make them stronger and able to survive on earth.
The first one that got injected with this DNA of an animal, was Luna. She survived the comet-rain but nearly died. She became weak because of all the dust that she had inhalated. She needed help! The professor, collected DNA of animals during several years when things started to get bad and kept it frozen in his special designed compact travel mini coolbox.
He also studied the facts of a lot of animals, what their powers are and how they could help us humans.The animas he used, weren't alive anymore though they were not harmed by the humans. After they died Alfonzo the scientist, collected parts of them right away.
He was convinced it could help humankind it would make them hybrids.....

Luna got a injection of the DNA from a Rabbit bunny. Rabbits are fast, cute and have sharp teeth.
Their diet is very different than humans and this could work in everyone advance to eat more seeds and nuts. The farmers had enough of it anyway.
At first she slept a long time. The whole community was worried if she ever woke up again. Alfonzo insured all that it will work out great. He had to tell them all that it would help them but at first everyone disagreed...mixing and experimenting with humans and animals.
It sounds kinda freaky right?!
Because there was not that much of a choice everyone decided to go along with the experiment.
After two weeks, Luna woke up.....

She had no idea that she got this injection. When it happened, she was to weak to notice.
She looked at her hands, little bit grey-ish but normal.
But her hearing had changed, it was like every sound was very far away and if she concentrated on sounds she could hear extremely well.....
"Weird" she said. Her smelling senses were very powerful too! She noticed the horrible smell in the room where they have layed her down to recover.
While she was inspecting where this came from, and saw her reflection in the metallic garbage bin, where the smell came from and she was in shock she screamed.......

" Wh wh wh what what the hell........is is is what the hell is going on.......???"
Her first thought after that sentence was this must be a joke or a bad bad dream...........
Then the door opened and Alfonzo entered the room. " Luna, I am so glad to see you!" The professor explained everything and showed her what her new self can develop in time. Of course she is sceptical about it but she doesn't have that much choice, right?!
" I kinda like my hair though". She told the professor and than laught...
Her hair became blue and greenish during the chemical reaction of her transformation.
"Well lucky you" the professor said

Everyone was so relieved that Luna was alive and looked pretty awesome as a hybrid rabbit. When she practiced her new skills and showed it to the community. Her smelling senses were super handy for protection and just like her smell is the hearing part also a big plus!!

More people of the community chose to be transformed, some of them were combined with a comet, where the spacy DNA of that fallen piece of rock influenced the humans vision, strength and the capabillity to heal themselves and others with a touch... Others wanted to be robotic for an eternal life so they always could keep part of human forever on this planet.

Here comes the process of making Luna the HybridBunny:

So I had a vision of this girl with big bunny ears and here I have made the sketch, in the beginning I was really getting into it and forgot some of the process, lucky that digital art provides layers and I love to use layers, they also drive me crazy sometimes though🙊🙈🙉

Searching for the right face..... Choices to make.

Base colors..... From ^ to √ the 2nd one makes it a little spooky wich I like better for this theme and my story.

Later on I went for the hair. I love making hair! It is so satisfying!! Color on color on color keep on going lighter till I think it is enough 😊

And then what, I just chop it off and turn completely with this amazing color balance in my super loved "Autodesk sketchbook"

Here I was playing around, it could easy be the movie poster of Luna I think. But wasn't done yet. I gave here some details in her face and later on I worked some more on her face and did not want to officially present my Luna with this "poster" but don't want to hide it because it's a part of the process and it deserves to be in this😉

Now we're getting somewhere..
