The Ancient Huge Carob Tree 🌳 - Part 1
This was the first location me and @simba stopped at, on our last photo-trip.
The view was scenic but what caught my eye (and my cam lens 😋) was this huge old tree which @simba identified as a Male Carob Tree.
Carob (scientific name: Ceratonia siliqua) is an evergreen tree which rises to a height of 10-15 meters.
It has a wide and round landscape and its distribution in large parts of Israel.
The carob trees bloom in October and this is the only Mediterranean tree that blooms at that time.
a peep through the carob branches
The carob's origin is in the eastern Mediterranean, and it also grows in other places, for fruit and for
decoration.
We didn't find any fruits though...
Enjoy!
