Triple Masking

Hello Folks!

Greetings from the land of cramming and last minute reports!

Recently, I discovered a skin care trend that was going on for quite awhile now. As you all know, I do not wear make up. I do prefer to invest more on my skin care regimen and on sunblock. So, learning of triple masking is kind of exciting to me.

Studying and stressed had made me look like this:

So, against my better judgement, I took a time off and just tried doing the triple masking thing.

To begin with triple masking is a skin care trend that involves- 3 masks.

The first mask is an exfoliator, followed by a calming/ detoxifying mask and then, the nourishing/ hydrating masks.

I personally had been chemically exfoliating every two weeks because, my skin is very sensitive. I do however do a proper skin prep before starting:

I removed all my skin care products by dabbing a bit of this on my face. In my world, there is no such a thing as a brand loyalty because right now, I am not actively engaged in any money making gig so, I have to scrimp up on things. Besides, the principle in Oriental skin care is not about the brand but the content and potency of the product. So, you'd read me writing about this and that masks because, I look for the contents and preparation. Not the price and the brand.

And washed my face with my facial cleanser.

I then used a toner- this is the alcohol toner so I could remove further impurities which was not washed away by the oil cleanser and the facial/water based one(that's the second one I used!) Yes. You guys are rolling your eyes and probably skipping this but, I just want you to know that using an alcohol based toner EVERY SINGLE TIME WILL DRY UP YOUR SKIN!

So I used this hydrating/refreshing toner every day which does nothing but that without the risk of drying up my skin!

The first mask:

Which looked something like this on my face:

As I have been saying before, I do not use this product daily. I only use it weekly because, it dries the skin. If you do get to use any exfoliants, make sure that you follow that up with a hydrating mask to protect your skin from damage and the risk of drying up.

The second mask is a purifying/ detoxifying mask. I personally love to use bubble masks but, for today, I used this: a heating mask!

Another preference of mine is that, I often avoid using clay masks. While its true that some clay masks do hydrate and moisturize your skin, I often observe that it strips my skin of all the water and oil that is essential in hydrating it. I use it at least once a week- the most or, on those times when my skin becomes an oil refinery then, I often use it every other day- followed by a hydrating/ moisturizing mask. It initially looked something like this on my skin:

And, there's an instruction to rub it in...….so, I rubbed it in!

If you're curious to know if it feels hot, yes but its tolerable. After one minute, I washed it off my face and, there's this minty/cool feeling that love about the product! It makes me feel so refreshed and relaxed!

And, I looked something like this:

That's a pretty decent look but, my skin felt dry in this picture. Dry skin= wrinkles and early aging!

And the final mask:

I looked like this for 20 minutes...……….

When I took it off, there were some essence left on the packet so, I applied them on my face and, let it dry!

Yes Folks. From the background you can see the mess I am doing on my room but cut me some slack. I am tired. I still have a lot of things to do and, I simply wanted to catch up with people in steemit!

So, here is the final look. I just sealed it off with my favourite moisturizer because, that's what I do. You can leave everything overnight without applying anything after the third mask but, I wanted to take good care of me.

Yes. This is not a day to day or even an every other day thing. Honestly, this is a fun activity which for me should be done on weekends or on those moments when you're not busy. The triple masking is just like a "mini" visit to a facialist and, that's what we do at home! It still does not replace professional skin care services but, if you're busy or broke like me, then, this is the alternative. I frankly love this because its so convenient and practical. Triple masking for me is not about appearances folks. Its about feeling good about myself and, ensuring that I do take good care of me even on small way. Okay, you wanted the truth: It keeps me sane! I just want to stressed this part: I did not use any special camera/ any software to influence the quality of my pictures. I am simply taking a picture with my phone because, I wanted you to see the real deal and not the "glamorized me!"

That triple masking thing seems a lot of trouble... I hope it works.

Yep. I don't even know what sort of toner you're talking about. The toners I know go inside Laser Printers. 😀

i know. hahahaha well, I do not like wearing make ups so, toners or water moisturizers are the thing that I use in order to keep my skin young and glowing. hahahahahaha

I cannot believe I just typed that.
