The Five Future Booming Technologies

in #steemit8 years ago

I read the latest book by Harry Dent titled:

"The Sale of a lifetime: How the great bubble burst of 2017 can make you rich"

Although there's a wealth of information and statistics in this book, I'd like to only shed some light on some of the specific recommendations that Harry Dent does towards the end of his book about his forecast of the rising technologies over the next couple of decades. Those are potential areas of study, specialization, entrepreneurship or even interest that could appeal to all my cryptocurrency researchers, activists and even beginners. I'll mention those top five areas here in this post and will put one picture and one website for each so that those who are interested might take it from there and explore those areas more.

I also believe that those specific areas of technologies are going to be booming and I advise all the current students majoring in science and technology to give them special thought. I also advise all my circle of business owners and entrepreneurs to start considering any or some of those fields for potential business start-ups.

Here are the five high potential areas of future technologies:

1. Biotechnology

I hope you found this information useful and applicable. I look forward to continuing to share with you my thoughts, research findings and the recommendations of top financial and technological gurus throughout my upcoming posts.

Blockchain should have made it into top five, just on market cap alone

Agreed. I merely conveyed Harry Dent's view on what he sees as the top five. Blockchain comes under cryptography distributed ledger, which is currently being up-scaled by the hashgraph technology. But we're still to see what's happening between both.

Well, maybe depends on how you look at it.
What is the actual value of the current state of blockchain technology?
Take bitcoin: market cap is indeed significant. Though is it really used already as it was originally supposed to? (who's actually buying with bitcoin at this moment?)
I don't doubt blockchain has a huge potential. I do think there is still a lot of 'weed' amongst the flowers.

The five technologies mentioned by Dent are maybe already more mature?
He might mention blockchain as a top three technology in a next book ;).

Yes, I don't doubt the great potential of blockchain technology. I've been studying its evolution to the hashgraph technology lately and I'm amazed by how it superceeds all the bitfalls of blockchain. That's why I'm really excited about what the future brings in that area.

Thanks @estsrewards. I hope you found value in my post to vote and comment on it.

Biotech is probably killing more people than helping, see side effects of drugs-- aka school shootings etc...

Nanotech was listed as "hot" during the dotcom days 18 years ago, and realistically it's been going on in semis since the 90s, nothing new.

3D printing: much tougher business than it seems, rather print one plastic soldier with $10,000 equiptment, or have a factory in Mexico print a million for much cheaper? Not saying there isn't something there, but that theme's already been played out years ago.

Robotics: see nano-tech, the stuff that works is already out there, you just don't see it bc the Jetson's "Rosie" isn't cost effective. also overplayed theme.

Clean Energy: we've looked at it in depth, almost none of it makes economic sense. people forget a LOT of costs when doing comparisons.
Easy example is that electricity prices haven't gone up, like everyone predicted more than a decade ago. All of Energy is overdue for a collapse.

Dent is a blowhard fraud son of a politician (which is worse than a sonofb!tch!) who makes the same prediction over and over again until it happens. TIMING is everything in investing, and he has no magic ball for it.

Just saying, beware these "sages"

Thanks for sharing those insights. Not being a tech guy myself, I can't rebut any of your points, but can only take them into consideration when i either prepare or analyse feasibility studies around those technologies.

Thank you for the beautiful contribution, indeed many of those technologies are shaping our future.
We upvoted your post as a complementary vote since you have not used the #arab tag, we normally skip posts which do not, yet we made it an exception as you probably are not aware :)
please include it in the future, and we look forward to more great posts by you.

Thank you very much @arabsteem I was not aware of that tag. I'll use it in my future posts.

Good list, and I hope this helps some young person who is looking for a good career path! 😊

Thank you @thekittygirl I appreciate your support. I look forward to reading and learning from all your posts.

Nice post, shame there was no mention of alternative protein sources and also that clean energy was listed 5th. If we don't sort out environmental issues the other 4 are pretty redundant.

I don't disagree. I just wanted to be very objective when summarizing Harry Dent's predictions.
