Is the Broken Tag Problem ever going to Be fixed I just wasted another $6 SBD because of this issue!
There are two problems that need to be addressed and fixed:
1. 5 tags still make your post only show up in the first category tag and the main promoted, but not for the other tags.
2. You can't change your first tag. This is a problem. Because if you make a mistake or typo you're stuck with it. I wrote photographer instead of photography and now I'm stuck with that.
So I promoted my post then I saw I had photographer instead of photography, deleted it and fixed it and made sure I only had 4 tags because the I didn't know if it was fixed yet or not...
But no the system kept photographer and then added in photography along with my other 3 tags and put me at 5 tags. So now I just paid $6 SBD for post that will not show up anywhere but promoted as "Photographer" which is not a category and the other 4 will not show due to this stupid issue Steemit is having. So only under main will I get any exposure.
I then deleted a tag to go back to 4 but the post still won't show up anywhere.

Questions:
Are these issues going to be fixed?
And can we get refunds when things like this happen?
I want to use the promoted post feature, but so far I have had this happen twice where the money is wasted due to these issues.
PS: We still need a block button so we can block stalkers and trolls that refuse to go away and stop posting on your posts or following your account even when they have even been asked to.

I didn't use 5. The system pushed it over when I tried to replace the first tag that was a mistaken tag, I had 4 when I clicked post and the system added back in the tag I removed. This needs to be both issues.
oh, bummer. I know first tag can never be changed. Not sure if there's any plan to allow that in future.
I imagine this issue and a few others will be fixed shortly with the announcement of Steemit Inc's official road map being released 6 days from now. We are in beta so I doubt compensation will be paid to those who have experienced issues, and unless you purchased SBD you have not assumed any risk. But, it does suck to hear you lost money due to this problem. You could appeal the problem in the steemit.chat help channels and see if someone is willing to help reimburse you. They may introduce reimbursement protocols in the future but for now it's an unfortunate circumstance.

The Steemit dev team just closed the issue to prevent users from using 5 tags: https://github.com/steemit/steemit.com/issues/918
I have no control over their release process, so I can't make any guarantees - but I expect they will have it deployed to the site soon. They usually deploy releases at least once a week.
The larger fix (to actually make it work with 5 tags) is being worked on here. I don't have an ETA for that, but they are working on it.

Regarding the first tag being the category, I have not heard them having plans to change that. At a blockchain level - moving a post from one category to another I believe is a big deal, so I don't know if it will be something they ever implement. Best advise is to proof before you promote. If you find an issue, you can always erase the post and re-post it with the correct category.
[edit] Regarding refunds - unfortunately no. The site is in beta, so it is "use at your own risk". They try to prevent and resolve issues as much as possible, but there is no guarantee that everything will work 100%.
