Street Culinary; Smoked fish on road side and the market place
Greetings to my friends and members of this community, it my pleasure to present to you some street culinary in my local market, I am grateful to @irawandedy for organizing this contest
You will always find some people smoking their fish by the roadside so that if after the day ends they are not able to make much or complete sales, the fish is still preserved for the next day. Today I will be presenting some street culinary and their packaging techniques, methods of which they are arranged for marketing, and one of the items of which I would like to point out today is smoked fish.
SMOKED FISH IN BARBECUE |
Fish are of different types sold in different forms either fresh or dry but today I came across some dry fish by the roadside. I decided to go close to the buyer and ask for the price as I aimed to prepare soup the next day. These fishes here are bought by retailers the same way you see them, they are prepared by fishermen wholesalers in this form for preservation while buyers troop in to buy. Some are kept fresh and are sent to markets or neighbouring towns with more buyer traffic. One thing you should understand is that not all fish are consumed fresh, especially ones with very thin skin.
My biology teacher will always ask about the elements in nature that food on the main roads is likely to contain. This is done to bring to our understanding that we ought to wash every food item before taking it in.
Okra, pepper and egusi wrapped in nylon |

In Nigeria we have markets and in these markets food items sold which could be used in the preparation of soup and dishes, they are always exposed to air, an example is leaves because putting them in bags will make them rotten but some of them are always wrapped with nylon because it will be sold quickly and the customer can decide how to keep them after purchase. Some of the food items here are okra, pepper, salt (satcheted), crayfish, onions( wrapping onions will make them rotten, so keeping them exposed is preferable), periwinkle, cow skin, meats etc.

The higher the quantity purchased by the customer, the higher the price and the price could fluctuate at any time depending on the situation of the country.
