Bajai Life Camp 18.05: Day 517
Brentwood
Monday November 5, 2018
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
179.1 lbs.
28.31% afterburn

Woke up with the alarm at 05:00. Slept very well. Felt well rested and back to 100% healthiness. But wanted to go back to sleep. The whole time I was collecting my goods and preparing to make it to the 06:00 class at TDSC. And I'm happy I did. I made it through most of the class. I was happy to hit squats. Tommy chilled me out... suggested I top out way below my max. I complied. Got to leave my ego aside. But I honestly don't know where to stop. We worked with sliders, bands and the bike... and I polished up my kettle bell swings. Scheduled for twenty, but I had to settle for 10-15... 5 sets, with long breaks in between. It's the conditioning I need the most and that's what wipes me out.

After class I practiced dead lifting... fifty lbs., on the bar. Five sets. That was enough.

Now for the bio-scanning. I suspect the algorithm is age biased. It's got me at 23.3% body fat!!! 41.7 lbs.!!! 77.4 lbs of skeletal muscle. (Basically, I'm offended.) If I put a different age in will the measurements change? I get that these are guidelines... but they seem off to me. But on the other hand, maybe they are accurate. Maybe I do have 40+ lbs. of fat to shred. That would be a goal. Drop 20-fat, build 20-muscle.

It's raining, but a good day. Met up with Freida, first person from a program I met up with in the US. Nice to catch up. Despite the rain I'm heading to the Y. A bit tired and thighs burning. I need to do another session today. This 23'3% body fat is going to motivate me. Maybe I am too fluffy. And as I ask, "what are you going to do about it?"

Joined the YMCA. Should've prepared to train, but too many kids in the gym as usual for this time. I have two months.

Get some!!

A new wrinkle. An old wound. Will mark a new chapter in my life.

I introduced my mom to Dr. John Bergman today. She seemed interested. Later I did a blood pressure test to show how it's different every time.

Dr. John Bergman

First test. Left arm seated. 162/91

Second. Right arm standing. 183/99

Third. Right arm, seated deep breathing. 169/85

At the minimum this suggests we can control our BP. So what's normal?

The weather tomorrow might keep me from the Y. But I can get something done at the spot. Maybe the there will be enough of a break in the rain to get out and back.

For some reason I'm not very motivated to post the journal. Lack of pictures, I think.

Charcoal before bed. Goodnight.
