My Trip to Portugal! Part 1

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemers,

I would like to share my trip to Portugal earlier this year.

My old roommate and very good friend is constantly traveling in all corners of the wonderful world, getting to know the people and cultures, helping where he can and enjoying the freedom.

Earlier this year, he asked me if I would be interested in coming to Portugal to make an old container for a man he works, to see us again and then go to the Freekuency festival to build the restrooms and paint them.
Of course the container was paied and the flights to Porto included + the ticket and food for the festival.

After a little back and forth write, a few concepts nothing more was in the way.
Then I did not let myself be ragged, planned everything for the trip, packed my stuff and I was ready to start.

At the end of March I flew to Porto.

... Shortly learned the language completely on the almost two-hour flight and painted 3 canvases. Just Joking!

The almost two-hour flight was relatively fast and I was fortunately allowed to sit at the window.
Arrived in Porto I was greeted warmly by my friend and a friend who had her dog with us. We went to a great reunion on the way to find a place to stay.
A few canned beer later, our driver found a small parking spot at an old, abandoned villa on the water with an awesome view.

... Unpacked the tax-free Jägermeister , set us on a jetty on the water and enjoyed our reunion, drunk Jägermeister and talked a lot until we went to sleep in the van.
The next morning we enjoyed a good breakfast and coffee in Porto. We had a couple of hours to open the Montana Shop to get the Spraycans and used it to look around the city and to put some stickers.
Porto is beautiful! ...

I love the Streetart there!

... Spraycans bought easily and continue after a small meal.
At the time, my buddy lived on a property and built the owner of various things made of wood such as a carport, roofs, made renovations and all sorts of things.

Exactly on this property was also the container around which it was ready to paint.
... after 6 hrs drive we arrived there and made ourselves known.

The next morning, I immediately started designing the container. The weather was perfect. Summer start in Portugal. Sunny but not too hot and a bit cloudy to get some shade from time to time.

... hours later, a large part of the artwork was done and for me enough for this day.
We made our way to friends and enjoyed the life and the sunset into the night with fire, beer and great people.

The next day, of course, I went back to my picture and could almost finish it.

Then the preparations for the festival started.

Shopping, packing, clearing out the van and pimping festival ready.

Unfortunately, I only have the photo of a part of the kitchen at the moment :/

... we drove to other friends and put the toilets in the van, planned construction and design, planned our camp and the roads, ...

After a while, that was mastered and everything was ready to go.
Excellent! The joy was very great and we ended the day again at the campfire on the water and slept in time to get started early the next day, because we had a 6 hour road trip ahead of us.

The next morning.
... coffee, blankets and pillows in the car and then it went already on the road ...

...

...In Part 2 and 3 and why you should read it:

  • I would like to tell you how our road trip was and the arrival at the festival
  • From the structure and the great, new acquaintances I made.
  • I want to show you the restrooms and why the visitors loved us for it.
  • From my birthday and why this day became unforgettable in the afternoon!
  • Music and food, photos, ...
  • Departure and why all the inhabitants in the villages around the festival looked so weird at us
  • From the huge forest fires in Portugal and what you can do about it.
  • The result of the container, of course.
  • When I met a very young Bitcoin millionaire and what he does with his money and life
  • Why I was almost not paid and if I would go back to Portugal.
  • More pictures!

... and many other experiences that I have made and how it happened to me.

I hope you like my first part of my Tour.

THANKS A LOT for watching and reading!
