Steem Music League S2:R3 Entry: Sleepy Savannahs
Yo yo my steemian friends!
I present to you my entry for this weeks sml challenge titled "Sleepy Savannah"
When I heard the theme was Island music I immediately thought of tropical house and reggae, but I didn't want to make either because that just seems like what everyone's gonna do. So I thought of Islands like madagascar where there's tribe people and started working on an intense drum rythym.
Once I got to the point where I thought the drum beat was lit I added a bass, some minimalistic instrumentation and was like "damn that's dope".
But it wasn't enough for me.
That's where the "Sleepy" part of the title comes from; I added some airy pianos in the chorusy section stretched the track out and here we are.
I'm gonna be making a technical rundown of the track in form of a dtube video so stay tuned for that( upload either today or tommorow) and if you want to use the beat for rap go for it :)
The picture was taken by @laumi who's doing a travel blog about his numerous trips to africa
Anyways hope you enjoyed the track and peace out :p
Nice one. Good luck to you too in this competition 😁
Sweet Track, you definitely have the vibe going with some exotic sounds.
Thanks I appreciate the support ;)
Nice track, i'm enjoying the unusual clicky rim sounds in place of the more standard trappin hi hat vibes lol. Nice warm clean production, well done.
Thanks :) I always try to put in maximal effort in regards to mixing and mastering, because it's the only aspect that I feel I have full control over.
Whether or not people like it is their subjective thing, but at least I can make it sound proffesional :)
Yeaaaaa... This is RIDDINN..
So cool... Could bump this driving down the street or in an elevator, haha, dopeee my man!!
Nice :) If you want to hop on it for a rap hit me up on DC and I'll send you the file. Could make a pretty bangin track.
No question ban, definitely could make a bangin track.. I might have to hit you up on that.
You think if I layed down the vocals you could mix it?
For sure :)
That is a cool beat ... Madagascar is it! I have a strong feeling you could have made tropical house or reggae something uniquely your own ...
Woahhhhhhhh
Such a creative take on the theme and appreciate you wanting to stand out and not do what everyone else is doing.
The first 1:00 you combine such dope sounds to set the tone and then you transition us so nicely in my opinion to the next flow of sounds at 1:22.
Love that change in tempo around 1:56 and that slowdown at 2:53 before that burst of energy is so dope.
Much appreciation for the time and effort you spent creating this.
Namaste
