Internalizing Creativity

Just testing the waters out there: I'm curious what people think about the effects of internalizing the creative urge? In situations such having a song but no instrument, having an idea but no way to write it down, having something great to contribute to a conversation but not finding a place to join in etc.

The urge to create seems to remain but where do the unborn ideas go?
