Kintai Bridge, The Landmak Of Iwakuni

Hello everyone,
In this post I’d like to share one of the three most famous bridges in Japan.
Kintai Bridge
Kintai Bridge is located in Iwakuni City of Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It is an elegant wooden bridge and well known in Japan. It was completed in 1673 by Kikkawa Hiroyoshi but it was destroyed by a typhoon and flooding in 1950 and rebuilt in 1953. The bridge crosses over the Nishiki River.
The bridge is 193.3 meters across, the width is 5 meters, and the height is 6.64 meters.
In the early 2000s, the bridge was renovated for the first time since it was rebuilt. The cost of renovation was over 2 billion yen. So, visitors have to pay a 300 yen fee to cross, round trip over the bridge.
In the summer you can enjoy riding a boat and seeing the magnificent views. In August, at night there are fireworks.
Access
