EXIP – A Decentralized Domain Service

in #blockchain5 years ago

https://exip.live

EXIP DNS is blockchain-based, and the owner of the respective domain has full ownership and control of its usage, even the provisioning of new domain names. A Blockchain DNS solution where your domain is identified by an NFT

EXIP is a custom-built echo system to the needs of any individual, private, or government institution. EXIP is a usage token based on the Binance chain. EXIP will be used to buy, sell and auction domains and token holders will get rewarded when domains are purchased.

EXIP Browser

EXIP browser will enable users to access blockchain-based DNS technologies where everything progresses with a zero-knowledge policy, and no one will own the internet but community, only then we can build a genuinely free and open internet. EXIP DNS is blockchain-based, and the owner of the respective domain has full control of its usage, even the provisioning of new domain names and top-level domains (TLD). Giving the security of an intranet meanwhile and providing the connectivity of the internet. EXIP is designed to decentralize the internet and overcome monopolistic control over domain names.

What the EXIP browser aim's to do is provide independence from IANA and ICANN on the internet. Countries and their respective governments should own their domain names. NOT a non-profit corporation in the US, which aids the US government when needed. EXIP browser will enable users to access blockchain-based DNS technologies where everything progresses with a zero-trust policy, and no one will own the internet, only then can we build a genuinely free and open internet.

EXIP NFT Domain

In the EXIP protocol NFT(Non-Fungible Token) or standard ERC 721 tokens are used to track the ownership of a domain. Each domain is an NFT and there can be only one NFT in the EThereum public blockchain in the whole world, where it is universally unique. Initially, the person who creates/mint the NFT owns the NFT(Domain), and thereafter if auctioned the predecessor transfers the ownership of the domain to the successor who buys it.

What is EXIP Token?

EXIP token will be Built on the basis of the Binance chain. Its the compatibility of the token with third-party services wallets, exchanges, etc, and provides easy-to-use integration. EXIP tokens will be used to buy, auction, and sell the domains. Once the domains are purchased by a user, he/she owns them for a lifetime. In case of a domain being in a dormant state, the community can vote and decide to burn the NFT and recreate it for auction.

Usage of EXIP Token

If the community decides to censor a domain or TLD (Top Level Domain), they can do so by acquiring over 51% of the EXIP community vote. Users who own EXIP tokens are eligible for the voting and each token holds one vote. Unlike the traditional DNS system where a single organization decides and shut down an entire TLD within minutes, in EXIP whatever the case, the community decides which domain or TLD has to be on the internet and which ones are to be blocked whatsoever.

Unlike the traditional DNS system users in EXIP can own a TLD (Top Level Domain) which is one of the key characters. Users who own the TLDs can create domains under them and sell or auction them. Users who own the domains own the subdomains as well. Likewise, TLDs also can be sold or auctioned on the EXIP website. Each domain can have multiple children and a parent except the root domain. One domain can have unlimited subdomains where each of them can have its own set of subdomains.

What EXIP aims to provide as security features are of the following:

DNS Spoofing

DNS Hijacking

DNS Flood

Domain Hijacking

Censorship resistance

Tokenomics

Roadmap

Conclusion:

The internet we know today is not as free and open as it seems. Ever since the creation of domain names, two organizations are responsible for most of their control, IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) and ICANN (The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). These two organizations have the power to seize, revoke, dismiss, and permanently erase any domain from existence. What the EXIP browser aim's to do is provide independence from IANA and ICANN on the internet. EXIP browser will enable users to access blockchain-based DNS technologies where everything progresses with a zero-trust policy, and no one will own the internet, only then can we build a genuinely free and open internet.
